Picture of farm

The picture was quite fascinating. I will have to study it some more and locate all the roads, etc. There are sure a lot of them. The Rexford road was quite interesting and I think I identified the road that leads up to Hufsmith. He and his wife have quite a bit of land, and I don't know which is his house.

This morning I drove to the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. It is very pretty with all the flowers people have put there. I was disappointed that they did not put out the American flags like they have in previous years. You know, flags for the service men.

Thank you for the directions that helped me see the WHOLE picture. Only one problem!!

I wanted for this comment to go on the bottom of your message as a Comment to yourentry.

I couldn't find a space to write.

Off to work

It's a beautiful day in Philadelphia today.. we bought Sandra a used bike at a porch sale for $25.00!! You can't beat that! I have my eyes on a new motorcycle, a used ZX 11 ... I know I know.. not the fastest - That would be the ZX 14.(below) but that's what happens when you start getting older and a $8,000 price difference actually means something... sigh

Here is a nice aerial view of the farm, when the picture comes up you can use your mouse to move it. Here's how. Move the mouse arrow so it points somewhere on the map, click and hold down, you should now be able to drag the view to a new location :^) .. Happy Memorial Day ... Sid

Memorial Day

Didn't Memorial Day used to be on the 30th of the month? Now my week will be all messed up because I will go to the Pleasant Valley cemetery and pay my respects in private on the 30th.

Yesterday was a constant drizzle of rain although it was somewhere around 50 degrees. Today in late afternoon the sun finally broke through. Boy, are things really going to grow!

I am looking forward to some pictures of the new puppies that KC brought back from Texas.

She says they are pretty. Three males and one female.

Auburn Dog Show

I scanned four of the Auburn Dog Show photos into my computer and tried to post them on this blog but just couldn't figure out how to do it. I tried it through Add Media but the brouse directive couldn't find my jpg files. Foooooey.

Jessica and I are going to a (college roomate) bridal shower today. It should be lots of fun. The girls are taking off after the shower to have the bachlorette party. the friends fiance is mr X. He has a strange name, perhaps, but he is just the nicest young man ever. He is polite, isn't afraid to talk to middle aged women, and is cute besides. I think they will make a nice married couple.

Love to all,

Diana

Bragging about where I work

Hello everyone,

I am surely driving Sid crazy with all this talk about Barbero. I have just been having so much fun listening and watching all my colleagues at the Vet School on television and radio. All the folks who work at the Large Animal Hospital do great and meaningful work and it's nice to see they are getting so much recognition. Considering that two summers ago ago, the Hospital was spending 24/7 on wiping out the devastation of the huge salmonella problem, I would say this group deserves some good press.

Anyway, you can see how exciting my life is - I mean the fact that Barbaro is the most exciting thing going....well...I guess I have to work on getting a life huh???? Actually I am really busy all the time - but it is all work related.

My grandmom always asks about you Bopcha. And of course Nina always looks so happy when your name comes up. She has the best memories of you and Orgeon -it's really cute.

Bopcha, you were wondering why the horse only has a 50-50 chance. That's a good question because you are right the horse does look healthy. Apparently, in horses when there are injuries as serious as the one Barbaro has, severe complications can occur. The healing process is what brings about the biggest problem. A horse's size makes it difficult for them to heal, not to mention the fact that they can't rest in a bed like we do. But from what I can understand (in my limited medical knowledge), the horse can not lean on the injured leg, and so the horse puts its weight on the rest of his body. This then causes circulation problems and issues with infection. It seems like for such big animals, horses are very fragile.

Anway, Sid and I are actually going to spend some time in our offices today getting work done. Isn't that sad???

KC, I've been hearing about your dog succcess stories, that is so great. Four new puppies, wow!! Puppies are so cute - I'd love to see pictures when you have a chance.

Take good care and I'll check in soon.

Sid! You didn't capitalize my name!

Well, after attempting my log in and password about a million times, I finally logged in with no capital letter D and it worked. Grrrrr.....

I enjoyed Bopcha's last blog about Judi getting rained on. I can picture it very easily. I have not been caught in the rain yet, but I'm still in pain over being compared to Borzoi. I just didn't think my nose was that long.

I'm at work, so I'll go for now.

Love to all.

Today was a cloudy day with occasional showers. Judi went outside to pick some lettuce from our garden. A shower came by and let her have it!! As soon as Judi came inside, the shower stopped. I laughed and laughed.

Thank you for the pictures of the horse. They were terrific and really gave meaning to the radio news. The horse looked well to me. I don't know why they said a 50-50 chance of its survival.

My celery plants look really pretty in the garden. Special, the baby chicken I hatched in the chicken incubator, is growing and goes in and out of the chicken fence whenever he chooses. I'm surprised he has lasted this long.

Kc is on her way to Texas to pick up four puppies. Can you believe it.

Now, the hard part. Can I get this to stay on the blog? I'll check "Allow comments....." and Save in the blue square at the bottom.

I can't find it. I just wanted to say that celery is a good vegetable to grow in your garden.

Where did my other comment go??? Bopcha

I think I did something wrong. I cannot find my paragraph on planting celery. Did yooooou see it by any chance? Who, meaning whomever looks at this blog. Bopcha

What a relief it was to see the end of the journey. It’s a long was from there to here!! I arrived safe and sound. Hounds too. Love.

Zoiboy News

KC is near Seattle Washington attending the Borzoi Club of America's 2006 National Performance competitions.

She informed me last night the following:

In LGRA (Sprint Racing - 250 yards straight) Kazan and Kiev placed 1 & 2 out of 23 or 24 entries. This is Kazan's second straight year winning the LGRA event and he also earned his SGRC (Superior Gazehound Racing Title) with this win. Someone said Kazan may be the first borzoi to win the LGRA in back to back years. I do not know yet if this is a fact. Last year he won both LGRA and the ASFA coursing and was the first borzoi to accomplish this.

We did not enter the ASFA (coursing) event because we did not want to run 2 events in one day.

Today Kazan will run his second leg of the JC test (AKC junior coursing title) and Kiev already having his JC will run in the AKC coursing event.

Kim Plache, who is traveling with KC, had her dog, Todd, win High Score obedience dog in the LGRA event.

Bopcha at the Helm

Well, Sid, after many tries, here I am and I don't know, or I'm not sure what to do next.

Lets see, there is a line below that says, "Allow comments to the entry" so i will check

that. If I lose you, that is what happened.

Hello, hello. Here I am. I read a good book by Steve Forbes on the Flat Tax. That is the

name of the book. I'm in favor of it, after reading his explanation of it. He wrote to go

on the Blog and talk it up. I wish he would run for President in the next election. I would

vote for him.
