Fred

Kay, Fred is alive and well as of today!!!! Love, Bopcha

We have arrived

After a nine hour flight (4 hours on the tarmac) we have finally situated ourselves at the farm. The weather is magnificent!!! I washed and had the oil changed on the trusty pickup so it looks like we have our transportaion all organized :^) Tennesse was just a blast!! W have many stories to tell including how we got to meet George Jones in person!! Wow! at any rate Sandra is in the kitchen cooking a chicken - I think it's name was Fred (just kidding Kay)and I havemade a serious dent in mowing the front field. I hope all is well. Love Sid & Sandra

Hot, hot, hot

The weather gauge by the highway, in the sun, was 109 two days ago and 110 yesterday. Surely there should be a degree sign on this computer, but I don't know where it is. Anyway, don't you think that l09 is hot enough? I wet my head, my arms, and put a wet vest on my upper body. It really helps. Today, I am in the library where it is really cool. It feels so good!

My bridge is finished, but I have not heard from Charlie, the person that is supposed to install it. We, me, the cat, the chickens are looking forward to our visitors.

Blakney News of a Random Sort

Jessica looked fabulous as a bridesmaid at her roommate's wedding last weekend. The dress was a cocktail length hot pink satin strapless frock with an orange sash. Luckily, the bride was so beautiful that Jessica did not take the guests' attention away from the true focus of the event.

Noah has been benched by the team doctor. The MRI of his ankle showed residual swelling and bone bruising and the doctor wants it to heal a little more since we aren't into the season yet. The doc said he would let Noah play if it were the middle of the season. Noah is not happy, but he is compliant. In the meantime, he is going to PT twice a week, his acupuncturist once a week, his chiropractor every few weeks, his team doctor every few weeks, and his podiatrist/ankle doctor every few weeks. Eeeeeeek!

We have a new front-loading washer and dryer as of last Monday. (Our washing machine died shortly after the van died). They are as cool as advertised. I swear that Noah's grungy socks are truly cleaner now.

Benita/Bettye/Gabrielle and Loren are now in Albany, NY. Her new appointment seems to be going well. Michael is going to stay at Cleveland Clinic for at least another year. He will be making a real doctor's salary at last, so he should be able to see his family regularly.

We will be going to Cousin Marcia's service on the 29th of July. Then we will head to Corvallis to see Sid and Sandra and Bopcha. The summer is really flying by!

Love to all,

Dee

Mulberry Tree

I found a mulberry tree at the bottom of the hill! It is not full grown and has probably been there more than five years. I was so surprised when I noticed red BERRIES on this little tree. I showed it to Judi. We looked up the description in a tree book, and sure enough it is a mulberry tree. Now we need to take good care of it so it will develop into a big healthy tree.

Tory

Tory lost a long time companion yesterday (15 June). Her kitty, Shirona, traveled to the Rainbow Bridge while at the vets. Tory had taken her in when she stopped eating.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together..

Thank you, Joe, for the update on your family and your new project. I read that Sid is headed

up your way. YES, more sausages would be delightful! I don't get to the Library very often and that is why I have not responded to your comments as quickly as I should. Today it is hot outside and the Library is COOL. I work, can you believe it. at what they call The Gleaners. That is a place that provides free food for people who are hard up, and who cannot earn a living anymore. I put in two hours each Friday and four hours twice a month. It is interesting and the work isn't hard. I break down cardboard boxes for recycling, open plastic bags for other members to fill with frozen goods. In exchange, I get a week's supply of groceries.

Your family's activities really interest me. I hope your daughter can pursue higher education at Penn, and what a great opportunity for your son to learn "the business". Best wishes also

to you and to the soldier in your family.

Sounds like old times Dee

Chaos on Mercer Island

Arrrrgggghhhhh!

We are in the middle of chaos.

First, we are trying to get Noah and his friend an appartment. Because they were doing NOTHING on their own, I intervened, but I have to do it from a distance so that they can make the actual decision themselves and that is more challenging than finding and deciding for yourself.

Second, we are engaged in logistical issues on a daily basis with 4 people home and two vehicles available. Thank goodness for busses.

Third, Jessica's roomate's wedding is this Saturday and we have incoming guests staying with us tonight and we have various places we have to be on Saturday, and various people to transport to one or more of those places so we have to communicate constantly.

Fourth, I cannot seem to locate documents after I've scanned them.

Fifth, just the regular stuff that needs to get done.

Even living the "good life" can be hard at times!

Love,

Dee

Marcia

In case you have heard, Marcia died on Saturday. Judi is here working on the estate but will be going home tomorrow and coming back on the 26th to do inventory. There won't be a funeral service but probably a memorial service on the 29th (I think). Marcia was cremated. Apparently she just went to sleep.

P.S. Sid, nice car. Want to buy a Volkswagen Vanagon???

From Joe

Hi Bopcha did you get my comments from the last posting? I entered it through your comments to my posting, if not here it is verbatim:

Bopcha, glad to hear back from you so quickly. My son Joe Jr. (Air Force) is at Fort Drum in upstate New York for the summer. He is scheduled for Iraq in Sept. the 11th I believe (how fitting). I am anticipating a self-transition at that time, in other words "When the War Comes Home". since presently it is only something of news and information for me. Joe Jr. loves the military, and will probably do 20 or so years. He also is trying to get some college courses accomplished, I'm very proud of him even if he did forget to call me on Fathers day.....He'll pay I told him.....

My work load is tremendous at times but it is very gratifying working for yourself. I took a new man on board to manage the office and regulatory side of things, David, is extremely efficient and has been better than I could have hoped for in that job. We're expanding to about 450 customers next month. We acquired another Water/Wastewater System near Narrowsburg NY, its about 25 miles North from here....... (Hamlin PA. which is 15 miles east of Scranton).......The owners (Koberleins)want to retire and are very nice people.

I'm happy to hear your water line is still working good, I told Sid to invent another project/reason for me to go out there I would be glad to do it. If/ when we Sid moves back we'll have to make sausgages both East coast and West coast. I hope that he sent some out for you to try. It went pretty good for our first time, but there's room for improvement....I'm sure.

Anyway I did try to write you several of times but I think they got lost within the internet after the changed email addresse(s)this will work much better. My daughter has just graduated High School and is doing good she lives with her mother in Audubon, New Jersey across from Phila. I have alot of faith in her she is becoming a very wonderful person.....so far so good..... My youngest son Matt (17) lives with me and is working a little with me in this business so we'll see if he sticks to it, I could use the help, he's an excellent worker.

Well take care Bopcha and God Bless write soon, I'll keep you posted of Joe Jr's movements.

Dang! Nice car!

Sid, I can't wait for Noah to read your comments about him. Maybe now that he's been found out, he'll tell his mom the whole story. He left around noon today to go to the place he and his buddies go EVERY 4th of July holiday -- to Brandon's "cabin" in Bellingham. Brandon's dad is a cardiac specialist who got his undergraduate degree at Oregon State! The "cabin" is a really nice second home on a lake. Yes, there is a boat etc. etc. Who can blame the boys for making it their annual escape.

Jessica is at work. She and I cleaned up her room this morning after church. Now she can actually walk on the floor and not on her beautiful clothes.

Sandra's adventure was really something. Her rescuers were fabulous. What nice guys. Now she has a great story to share upon her return.

I am going over to a friend's house later this afternoon to watch Brokeback Mountain. She and her husband bought a lakefront home and they have a new Media room. Ahhhhhh..... I'm looking forward to it.

We were doing fine with only two cars when the Van's "check engine" light came on. So now we are down to one car -- the Camry. Surprising how well we do with limited wheels. We'll get the Van checked out on Monday. Hopefully, it will not be a big deal.

Kay made $47.00 at her yard sale yesterday. I'm anticipating she'll be rich at the end of today when the sale ends. Ha! Ha!

Love,

Dee
