Joe, I meant to comment earlier on your letter referring to your Jack Russel dog. I was in Albany and was introduced to Jack Russell. I asked him if he was related (not to the dog but to the person who originated the name!). He said "No". I think often of Little Joe and hope and wish that his tour in Iraq is enlightening and will give him something to brag about when he returns.

Judi and I took the Ranger into the woods yesterday and Judi found some more Chanterelles, or mushrooms in other words.

Sid, I have been receiving b'day presents for you. We can have a real celebration with so many events happening so close together. Yippeee.

Gee, that was sure a cute picture of Nina and brother.

We had some real windy weather. It makes one aware of the fresh air coming in under the doors and windows, but you know it isn't very cold.

Until we meet again, SOON. Bopcha

Wet, wet, wet!

Well, it should be a great ski season here as long as all the roads to the ski resorts aren't washed away by our recent rain storms.

We are not suffering at all, but lots of other folks in Washington are. Luckily, Washingtonians are such outdoor recreation freaks that there are lots of kayaks available for zipping around in the rainwater. Unfortunately, kayaks don't hold a lot of household goods.

I am taking Amtrak to CVO on Wednesday, November 22 (Bopcha's birthday), and will be spending Thanksgiving with her (Sid has volunteered to take Turkey dinners to the homeless, so he will be too busy to eat with us). I go home on Friday, November 24th. Bill and the kiddos will be cooking and eating at our house. JB needs to stay off her feet that day as much as she can cuz the holiday work hours in retail are REALLY brutal and her little toes take a beating with all that standing.

Well, I'd better get back to work.

Love,

Dee

It's Sunday night already

I can not believe that Monday morining is only a few hours away. I am just complaining because there just never seems to be enough time to rest. And Diana, with you being at work I am sure you are especially feeling unrefreshed for the week. Writing a convincing argument - it can not be easy. I hope you don't have to spend too many hours doing this. It seems like it is often the case: the law is not clear and you have to stumble around to allow the law to fit your case.

So Noah is sitting for now. You sound disappointed but also very patient. Why is he not playing? Excuse my ignorance, I don't understand the process and I am curious. While I am sure you would have loved to have Noah play and go to Colorado, I am sure that Sid is thrilled that you will be around in November (that is if you have a chance to go to Oregon). I unfortunately will be here in not so beautiful Philly and NJ. The work demands, and those of the course I am taking right now make it really difficult to get away.

I guess I will sign off for now. We received a really nice photo of "tornado" running from KC. Thanks KC. Tornado was a sweet dog. I enjoyed her.

Best wishes to everyone and I will check in again soon.

Go Redhawks!

We attended the second exhibition game of the season and the Redhawks won (although it WAS nip and tuck). Noah did not play so we are almost positive he will not be on the traveling team for the trip to Colorado. Thus it looks very unlikely that we will be in Colorado for Thanksgiving.

It is hard to see your kid on the bench, but we have, as they say good sports parents should, released Noah to the game and to the Coach. He is awfully cute in his uniform, and he wanted a team he had to work for playing time on, so this is clearly the challenge he asked for and he is on his own. We will simply remain team fans and cheer whoever is on the floor. With only 13 healthy players this season, I'm sure Noah will get his chance. We all need to remain patient.

I'm at work (it is Sunday) because I have a brief to write and the law is completely unclear and undecided at this point, so I have to craft an argument that will persuade the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals that my position is the right one. Arrrrghhhh!

Good luck in the pool tourney, Tom!

Love,

Dee
