Yahoo it's friday

Thank goodness it is Friday. I was so annoyed with work I actually went to the gym and worked out for the first time in about 3 months. See what a good example you set Bopcha. It's late and I am going to have to write some papers this weekend. Groan!!

Good night.

The highlight of my birthday

Hello Everyone,

The highlight of my birthday was definitely when I came home and found your really really sweet heartfelt messages. It was especially welcome after a crazy day at work. Work has been truly insane this week, just in time for my birthday. :-) Thanks so much for cheering me up. You guys are the best!

It was really nice to have Diana and Bill around. My only complaint is that they took the nice Northwest breeze with them. It has been super hot and humid, and the only way you can not feel sick is to sit in the air conditioning.

My office yesterday had no air conditioning. Luckily, I was out at New Bolton Center, (the large animal hospital) and was spared the pain. But my office mate called me to tell me that she sweated pounds off by just sitting in her office and working.

Diana, I loved the pictures you sent. The little girls (your nieces) are so so cute. Very nice looking children indeed, I'm sure they are a handful.

Diana and Bill got to meet the lizards that Nina and Alex are so proud of. Now I am sure that was the highlight of their trip to the East Coast!

How about the Beavers' victory. We all sat and watched the game on Sunday night while indulging in various treats. Definitely good timing to have Beaver fans around while that game was on. It is always much more enjoyable to watch the game with company.

Hope everyone is enjoying summer so far. And again thanks for the birthday wishes. I truly appreciated them.

Love,

Sandra

Why did I wake up at 4 a.m.?

East coast time really messes you up when morning comes! I'm sitting here at my computer after spending about an hour trying to find the photos I uploaded yesterday. I put the photos in a Kodak album, which I emailed to most of you yesterday. I was going to post one of the photos on the web and now I can't figure out how the photos bypassed my computer and went right to the Web and the Kodak website. Arrrrrghhh!

Joe, at first I thought your cute doggie died! I thought "moving on" was a euphenism for dropping dead! I was happy to discover that he was alive and well with another family.

I am going to work today. Bill is going to be home for a couple of more days. Among other things, he is helping to move our new pastor into the parsonage. She and her husband arrive sometime this week.

Mother, Ross Boundy sent me an email saying he took a job with a new lawfirm in town. I'm so glad he finally got away from the old one. The members of the old one never appreciated him.

We had a great time in Philly and in Albany. The weather was fabulous, the company was entertaining, and the scenery was a pleasant contrast to the Northwest.

Noah and Haley picked us up at the airport. Jess was at work. The house and the plants and Buster the cat were all in good shape.

Love,

Dee

My Mama was making pancakes, fat and brown and round

She went to take them off the stove, but one could not be found

Rolling down the hill, we heard a voice loud and shrill singing

Run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me I am a johnnycake man

Stop, stop said the cow, stop. stop, said the horse

Stop, stop said the goose, but he didn't stop, of course

And as they chased him down the hill, we heard his voice gay and shrill singing, run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me I am a johnnycake man.

The alligator said, I will help you cross the drink, jump upon my nose because my back is sure to sink. He swallowed johnny down, but still we heard a voice, faint and shrill. singing, run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me I am a johnnycake man.

My friends all tell me johnnycake men do not exist, they may be right, I may be wrong, but this I do insist, when the wind comes over the hill, I hear his voice, clear and shrill, singing, run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me I am a johnnycake man.

TARDY

Hello to all, I can hardly believe its been 3 weeks since my last note. Daggone Sid, I was hoping to pop in while Diana was here, I read it as June 24th was their arrival. Most definitely next time Diana.

I'm afraid to say that Daisy, my beloved dog has moved on. She now lives with Rex ( a male Jack Rssl.), along with Pete and Rebecca who so kindly offered to take Daisy. I did put up a fight, I immediatly said no to their request for her adoption. But as weeks went by, I realized a caged life, (while I was at work) was no good for her spirit, so I eventually conceded. I hope Sid, we can borrow her for sausage making this year since she made such an efficient vacuum cleaner. I will miss her. :-(

me and Daisy bid farewell

C'Est La Vie' Daisy

Boy, I had to go all the way back to "Ticks" to catch up, interestingly, I had a filthy bloodsucker tapping my leg tonight - that must have been he 10th one this season - he is now toast.

Bopcha, I hope the poetry keeps flowing, I truly enjoy the poems. While I as a child attended Catholic school, poetry became a way of life for me, the good Sisters of the BVM used recitals as a punishment tool and I became proficient.

My Best to Everyone

Safe travels Diana and Bill

Joe

Darn it, I missed the Beavers. Joe where are you?

Grrr. I missed the game but the beavers are Great!! It looks like we rolled right over them, If we win tomorrow we win it all, right?

It was a busy day today. Studied for Psychology dreamed about Philosophy and finished working on the Porsche. It started right up with a growl. I just got it back together and it seems to running fine. Whew!

I have some nice bright instrumentation lights now. I had to pull the whole pod off - That is what they call the instrumentation panel. Pull out the old light bulbs and put in some new blue shaded led's. Sweet!

Diana and Bill will be back tomorrow and as I mentioned we will head over to the Parsons but I am sure we will be back in time to see the game. I have some more studying to do.

Love Sid

Beavers

Aren't the

Beavers great? Love, Bopcha

Lettuce

Some organization (?) sent us over 200 heads of iceberg lettuce. It was in a huge container. We couldn't begin to give it all away! Especially when we have such delicious lettuce from the organic farm . Deb dropped by this morning on her way home. She has 57 animals, I think that was the right number, goats and sheep and chickens. I guess her folks are in Corvallis again, although I didn't ask.

It has been a nice day. In addition the cherries, we have strawberries and currants. The blackberries aren't ripe yet. KC called and sent you and Sandra her love.

I am tired,too. Love, Bopcha

Yummy

Boy, does the description of the cherries sound yummy. I am bone tired and I would love just to sleep this weekend, but I have a “tome” of philosophy to read and a midterm to study for in Psychology. I will be the tortured soul this weekend. Diana & Bill will be back on Sunday so we will go over to the Parsons for a visit.

Work is excruciating. Every year around this time the people in our business get very "People Overloaded." You get so you can not stand the sight of them (new people) You feel like you want to start the conversation with a very heartfelt "WHAT DO YOU WANT!!!"

Good Work on the critters Judi, we have a rascal at the condo which shows up often enough to get named. Stuart.

Judi, If you have thought of any ideas for some interesting projects let me know so I can think about how we want to organize doing them.

Cherries, Berries, and Wind

The cherry tree in our yard has a few cherries on it, and they are so good. Also, the strawberry patch has a lot of nice strawberries, nice ripe ones, and the wind outside is rattling all the windows. I get a lot of fresh air even though the windows are closed. Also, we had a big family of mice, and Judi is skilled with setting traps, so we eliminated them. And to add to the fun, we have had little, bitty ants, invading the drain board. We cannot find where they enter the house, but they sure do. One batch we got rid of, but another batch has entered again. The birds like cherries, too, so tonight we tried to pick all the ripe ones, i.e. all the riipe cherries.

Diana, I think, is very, very happy with the Beavers doing so well in baseball. What fun, to be able to visit with Sandra and Sid, have a great meal, a comforable bed, and besides watch the game. Thank you Sandra and Sid for the comments, and keeping me informed. It really helps to pass the time when I receive your comments on the blog.

KC called and said it was very hot in Germany, but not as hot as it is in Colorado Springs. It is 70° here right now, Tomorrow is Gleaners here in the park. Love, Bopcha

Always a pleasure

It was really fun having Diana and Bill over. It is always nice to have Sid's family members visit from out west. It gives Sid and I a chance to make a meal and sit at the table together, not to mention that it gives us motivation to usually fix a thing or two, or get rid of some junk etc...

I think Diana is being very generous in referring to "the hard work that Sid and I put into the place. " Let's just say the place is a "work in progress" and has been for many years. We always have an outstanding project or two, but that's all part of the fun. It makes it like a true masterpiece (well, maybe not....).

Anyway, guests are always welcome so if any of you out there on the beautiful West Coast want to come out to Philly - you are always welcome.
