I want to see Rambo!!

Wahhhh... I am the only one left who has not seen Rambo! You guys are killing me!

Change in Plans

Haley gave Bill and I a $100 gift certificate to the Melting Pot for Christmas, so we decided to use it to get together with the birthday twins, Kay, and etc. this weekend.

We will come down to Corvallis on the 9th and 10th to celebrate someone who's currently aging in reverse, I think this year she will be 59!

All is well here. We sure do enjoy reading everybody's entries.

Bill and I LOVED Rambo. Juno is an incredible movie also. Don't let the story line scare you away. Both Noah and Bill loved it.

Love to all,

Dee

New Year Resolution

Don't get foot stuck in the mud again.

My thanks to all you good people who cheered me up and kept me in good humour during my down time.

Glad to hear it

Hey Thompson's, I am glad the items fit. As you could see I was reaching with the old gifts this year which is why poor tom's gift was seasonally inappropriate..sigh!! Good heavens do not worry about thank you cards - you are talking to the kettle here :-) The Lounge pants are wonderful and the calendar is a yearly must..

Bopcha, I am so happy your progress has been so outstanding! Make sure you do not aggravate anything. The snow sounds beautiful but I'm sure glad we got to do our sightseeing over the holidays, I really enjoyed it. It seemed like the timing was right. (weather wise)

Love Sid

Happy Birthday Jurek

Tom and I wish you a very happy birthday. We invite you and your family to come and visit us in Colorado this year, see the Rockies and Pike's Peak while you are here. You can see Pike's Peak in the background of this picture. We think that would be a great way to celebrate another year of living!! (Well, shoot, the picture wouldn't load. So aggravating.)

Love, Tom and KC

Nice Fits!!

Hey Sid and Sandra - Tom and I are delighted respectively with our sandals and fleecy jacket. I've been wearing my jacket--put it to work almost immediately, fits beautifully, and keeps me warm. Tom tried on the sandals--they fit but expose his toes too much for Colorado frosts and has them set aside for spring. We missed sending you thanks somehow, but we'll rectify that situation--this year's thank you card features one of the hounds and we don't want you to miss it. In the meantime, know your gifts arrived and, at least the jacket is fully employed!! Love, KC

An article describing Jessica's store

Bellevue Square experienced a Canadian invasion earlier this month when Vancouver, B.C.-born Aritzia opened its doors just a few doors down from Abercrombie & Fitch, which may turn out to be the store's primary mall competition.

I've been trying to think of the perfect descriptor to help place the women's apparel shop on the map of suburban fashion. A less trendy Forever 21? A dressed-down Anthropologie? An eco-friendly Gap? None of the labels quite fits, because it's hard to categorize this Canadian chain that carries staples for women who prefer a casually chic look -- think skinny jeans tucked into boots, layered tops and a loosely tied scarf. It's as if the store's buyers want to provide local women with unlimited options to create one specific, albeit classic, look over and over again.

Lightweight cotton tops from Wilfred in a rainbow of muted colors ($35-$60) are meant to be layered underneath fur-trimmed hoodies from TNA ($125 to $175). Premium denim brands include Rock and Republic ($188-$238) and 7 For All Mankind ($199). The best buys are the wool and cashmere-blend coats from Talula Babaton ($268-$350).

Aritzia makes an effort to be eco-conscious, opting to do business with labels that maintain high ethical and social standards, and sending customers home with wood-free shopping bags. A word of caution: The Aritzia return policy resembles that of a small boutique rather than a chain store. Cash refunds are given only within 10 days; no returns or exchanges are allowed after 21 days; and no returns or exchanges are ever allowed on sale items.

Though Aritzia isn't groundbreaking in terms of style, Eastsiders will appreciate its boutiquelike selection and the convenience of its location, and Seattleites will find it a worthwhile stop on a Bellevue shopping excursion, or a pleasant place to wait out rush-hour traffic.

News from Oregon

We had one inch of snow last night. I-5 is closed from Salem to Eugene because of the numeronumerous accidents. We just don't know how to drive in bad weather!

Judi will stay at the farm today rather than risk driving in. It is supposed to rain tomorrow. We are more accustomed to rain.

Modern Day Travel

Hello All,

Kay it is nice to hear that your recent travel did have enjoyable times, and was not completely taken over by glitches; certainly you deserve to have a fun and memorable birthday trip. The scenery does sound lovely indeed, hope that was super relaxing. The part about being stranded in Reno and everything related to that sounds almost like a story from the good old days before "modern convenviences graced all of our lives." It certainly makes for a good story. And wow, I admire Tiffany for offering a house cleaning as a birthday gift. What an awesome offer, I realize that perhaps it would not be that thrilling for everyone, but I know I would be love it. I mean it's great to have the house really clean without cleaning it yourself. Have you gotten any offers to have your house cleaned once a month ; )

Just kidding!

By the way KC, you have inspired Sid to go see Rambo. I mean I think he wanted to see it before, but after your review he definitely doesn't want to miss it. Sid is perfectly happy to talk to Tom about the hernia surgery. Sid also was wondering if the sandals fit Tom. When I was writing this message, he asked that I mention the sandals.

How are the borzois surviving the cold temperatures, do they enjoy the cold somehwhat?

I hope you are feeling well Bopcha, hope that pain and itchiness are subsiding. By the way, both my mother and grandmother ask about you and how you are doing all the time. They also asked me to say hello to you and they send their best wishes for a flawless recovery.

Best wishes to everyone.

Love,

Sandra

Reno

Can you imagine that, they were leaving me stranded in Reno. I walked to the Amtrak Station on Friday to see what my options were because I was still sure they could bus me around the slide area. Going down we to the train to Eugene, bused to Klamath Falls and then back on a train from KFalls to Sacramento. I changed trains in Sacramento and went to Reno. Wouldn't you think they would do that in reverse. The Agent also thought so but when he called whoever, they said no provisions had been made for the return part of the trip and the track would be out until February. I asked what he thought I should do and he suggested calling Southwest Airlines. I considered going Greyhound and gave that up very quickly so I flew back on Saturday via Southwest. P.S. the first night in the hotel, the fire alarm went off 3 times. I think it was a malfunction. It gave us all a scare and the opportunity to meet in the hall in all stages of undress.

Going through the Sierra Nevadas on the train was absolutely beautiful with all the snow. The whole trip down even with the bus was very nice and Reno was fun. The mountains surrounding Reno were snow covered and beautiful. A nice trip once I realized I would get home.

For a birthday present, Tiffany cleaned up the house. That was very nice.

Christopher cut his thumb to the bone and severed a tendon. He has already had surgery and hopefully is doing okay.

I have a pork roast in the crock pot so my baby girl Tiffany will have something to eat when she gets off shift.

Sounds like the Rambo movie is good so guess I will put it on my list.

Heros and Hernias

Oh my, it was SO GOOD to see Rambo again. He's aged a bit but still, he's as good as ever. A force to have on one's side for sure!!

The doc's said that Tom has a hernia. He has to get referred to a doctor and then go thru the process to get it fixed. You had a hernia operation didn't you Sid? I told Tom he needed to consult with you, find out from the customer's view what the process is and the end result.

I found out that my little village of Louisville provides WIFI access to folks parking on main street. Such a privilege. I don't even have to buy a cup of coffee. I discovered by noticing a sign that pointed to the village saying "visitor WIFI" but when I drove thru, there wasn't any shop or visitor center. So, this time I brought my computer with me, turned it on, and voila, I could connect!!

By the way, Tom is constructing our new website. Check out www.zoiboyz.com . Lots of love. Must dash, I have hounds that need a walk.

Dreams

What a fantastic dream. You are so privileged Sid. Congratulations!

Love, Bopcha

Dream

I had a dream about Uncle Matt!!

He was dressed in a white suit and was in remarkable form. He said that he had been traveling. I was grinning so much from the joy of seeing him that it made my face hurt. (No pun's please) I said Uncle Matt! It is so good to see you!! He said yup! Everything is great! - in the way that a dream communicates its meaning - He then said there was worrying going on with (us/me?) but not to because.. "You do what you do and that is all right because everything is good". (In the metaphysical sense I think.)

Very interesting! I can tell you he was as clear as his real life image, much sharper than anything I can conjure on my own during the daylight hours. Very interesting! It sure was good to see him.

Love Sid

I'm with you Thompson

I am with KC, I too am greatly looking forward to Rambo!! KC, did the sandals fit Toms feet?? Did the jacket fit you?? I am taking a couple of history classes that are - as most classes are at Penn - fascinating! The rise and fall of the Ottoman empire and market bubbles and mania's.

Bopcha, I hope the sharp pain in your back is resolved quickly!!

Love Sid
