Fast Hi All

Well, the days keep rolling by. Bopcha and I went to see "Crazy Heart" last night and boy did the popcorn smell good! I dreamed of eating food last night grrrrr.

My weight is 221 Bopcha now weighs in at 120. We take lots and lots of naps. Still no real side effects to speak of, and amazingly we really are not that hungry!

I keep forgetting my cell phone. Dang contraption! Day four is just about in the books.

Love Sid and Bopcha

This is actually Rossana writing

Hello eveyone,

Heard about all the interesting stuff eveyone is doing and all the great farm life in play. It is so amazing how adorable the ducks are! Stay well all.

I finally got a ticket

Itineraries I finally finalized the dates for coming out to Oregon. I was going through my Delta skymiles (American Express Card). I can definitely tell you that they do not make it easy. Maybe they are hoping that people won't really use up the miles. I had a bit of an obstacle course in getting the right amount of miles for Oregon. It should all be okay now. I won't bore you with the details.

I tried to get something to Eugene but it just wasn't possible. Sorry to Bopcha and Sid that you have to drive all the way to Portland. I would have liked to save you a trip. The good news is that I will arrive in Portland at 4pm on a Sunday, so hopefully that will make it a bit easier.

The little yellow ducks are so cute. I can't wait to see them. The chicks are not little at all. Looks like they are ready to roam the field. Weather looks nice out there. It has actually been quite cold out here. Doesn't really feel like late Spring at all.

Anyway my itinerary:

SUNDAY MAY 9 DELTA 5815

Depart Phila 6:00am -

Arrive Detroit 7:50am

Depart Detroit 9:45am -

Arrive Minneapolis 10:45 am

Depart Minneapolis 2:30pm -

Arrive Portland 4:06pm

MONDAY MAY 17

Depart Portland 10:50pm

Arrive Detroit 6:09am

Arrive Phila at 10:37 am on Tuesday May 17

You are not reading it incorrectly. Indeed I will be taking three flights to get to Portland. Yikes!

See you all very soon.

Fast Hi All,

Not as boring as you would think. I do think that there will be psychological variances, so if there is any snapping apologies in advance. But for now there is a certain clarity of thought that is present for both of us. We have ordered more of the juice and will continue to supplement it with homemade fresh juice.

We are limited to no more that two cups a day, which surprisingly, is more than adequate. I have not felt any of the normal hunger pains that would be associated with a fast nor the blinding caffeine withdrawal headache. I had a slight Headache on Monday but it disappeared shortly after Thompson left :-) . (Just kidding Thompson)

Bopcha is feeling alright, not hungry i.e. about the same. We are going to take a trip to Kallamath Falls this Friday and will be available by cell phone. Sandra will be coming in next week. We will pick her up in Portland

Wednesday

I will be out visiting a school district today, then Bill and I are taking Jess, Noah and Gavin to a restaurant. It is a special restaurant week here and you get to have a three item dinner for $25. It will be JB's last dinner with us before she heads to Portland. Noah will then move into our house! We could not have arranged matters any better. No need to turn JB's bedroom back into a bedroom with Noah's arrival! It can remain a giant closet for now. One kid leaves and another arrives.

Bopcha - you and Sid are in my most fervent prayers during this fasting event. It can be boring, I know, but the results will be worth it!!

Love to all,

Dee

PS Kay, stop picking on cats!!!!

What a challenge

Wow the two of you have embarked on a huge challenge. I admire the determination. Please let us know how both of you are doing, and of course listen to your bodies. I would say make sure you drink lots of water. I assume it is okay to drink water, correct???

The duckling is adorable and what lucky person is holding the little creature? I am glad Nina is writing in. I know she has been thinking of Bopcha and the whole family a lot.

Thanks Sid for writing in to provide an account of what is going on with the Breuss Diet. Keep on telling us what is happening.

Good wishes to you.

Love,

Sandra

The Fast (Breuss Diet) T-40 and counting.

Fast Hello everyone, In order to provide entertainment for all and to produce a historical record that can later be referred to, we will track of this long journey - forty two days, via this blog. As most everyone already knows we have brought in the big guns - Bopcha and myself, to kick pancreatic cancers ass!!

The official Start of the Diet/ Fast was Sunday at 6pm . I had driven in from Philadelphia and had arrived at 10am. With no time to waste and with Thompson's valuable counsel, Bopcha and I decided since the medical professions solution is to sit and wait for the inevitable outcome, That we would take matters in hand and proceed with an alternative treatment plan.

So after a quick trip to the farm we picked up sister Judi's juicer and secured the recommended ingredients (Beet's, Carrots and celery root) from Safeway and The first Alternative. After a brief, (did I say brief) encounter with spaciness I lost the waste collector from the juicer! I had us all looking for it for a good 15 min (Something Sandra is all to familiar ) until Bopcha recalled I had entered from the front door not the back door! sure enough there it was sitting proudly on the front porch table. Sigh! I then moved on to the mission at hand, juicing.

Juicing was not without difficulty but with a routine I suppose it becomes easier. I promptly juiced and mixed a good approximation of the ratio 3 part beets, 1 part carrot and 1part celery root. Feeling quite proud of myself I wolfed down a good few gulps and passed it around for all to try. Sips here sips there we all gave it a shot and proclaimed. Not bad actually quite tasty. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter our throats began to constrict! Wow! this stuff is really doing something! Yes, it's doing something alright!

It seems that unless all the sediment is removed there is that nasty side effect. . The book recommends that you take just tablespoons at a time and hold it in your mouth mixing with your saliva. Kay claims her throat still bothers her did not phase Thompson at all and Bop an I were moderately amused by the whole situation.

On Monday the Box of the commercial juice arrived. It was premixed and strained and with a missing ingredient that I could not locate, The Black Radish . We think that there is some benefit to using fresh vegetables so we will be alternating between the two methods. We went down and to the first alternative and picked up the ingredients for the Sage Tea and after following the rather precise instructions, I arrived at a suitable concoction. It provides nice counter balance to the BCC Juice.

Presently it is 8 AM on Tuesday with 40 more days to go! Wow, this will truly be something. We are feeling a little weak and light headed (just a touch) we will be watching for negative effects, balance etc.

Love Sid and Bopcha

PS

Sid 225 lbs

Bop 125 lbs

No Problem Nina. When we go out to the farm in the next few days I will be sure to take some pictures and post them.
