Just like that -- an empty puppy yard! (almost)

It's unbelievable to me. Today, owners came to pick up their puppies so our little baby pack is now quite small. One travelled this morning to California (Echo formerly known as (fka) Eight); two are heading to Breckenridge (Enzo Ferrari fka Leopard Boy and Einstein Tech N9ne fka One Spot); and much to our surprise, a lovely woman drove down from Golden CO to purchase Elwood (or ???) fka Snip. She drove away just moments ago. Tomorrow, Melissa will move Tempest fka Enita to her house along with our little boy Eclipse fka Angie boy, so she has a playmate. Only Uschi's little girls and Encore fka Tornado boy will be here in our now very empty puppy yard. We made some folks REALLY happy. Tom and I are happy for them; happy for the puppies; feeling sorry for ourselves. Love from us.

Oh my goodness Kay. That sounds like fantastic fun--a cruise in Baja. WOW.

Oh my goodness again--unbelievable the hole in Bop's yard!!

Tell Joe hi for me.

December

I am taking a 4 day Baja Mexico Cruise starting December 6 with Stephanie, Crystal, Nathan, Christopher and don't know who else. This may fall through if it is determined that Crystal is further along than she thinks but just wanted to everyone a heads up. I have never done a cruise and Stephanie has given me the chance. I am very excited.

Thursday

Kay, I remember the name Dian Zimmerman, but I can't quite picture her. What! Doesn't use a computer??? That's what happens when you live in Manley, I guess.

Bill and I are headed down to Corvallis tomorrow morning. I have an 11:00 a.m. appointment in Vancouver (new case at work) and then we will come on down. I told Bill his job was to help all of you with projects that need heavy lifting. I will be sipping tea with Bopcha in the meantime.

Later alligators.

Love,

Dee

Wednesday (Kay)

Had my morning all planned out in my head - take dogs for walk on Chip Ross trail, then take dogs to have nails clipped, take dogs home and pick up laundry and go to laundromat and then go to Bopchas. We did Chip Ross and Luis found something really foul to roll in. So, the boys went home and got a bath and we will do nail clipping tomorrow. Pulled a bunch of dandelions at Bopchas this afternoon while she was having her finger pricked. Sid is now off buying food and should return shortly.

It is really humid in Corvallis and the sweat is rolling down my back. Early this morning I called Dian Gurtler (formerly Dian Zimmerman of Days Creek HIgh School). She is working at the Manley Hot Springs Lodge in Manley. We played a little catchup and she remembered KC and her long brown hair. I take great delight in telling all those people that remember KC and her long brown hair that it is now short white hair. Brown hair begone. Dian doesn't have a computer and doesn't know how to operate one but her daughter is the postmistress in Manley and the post office is getting a computer the first part of August and she will have her daughter email me. I guess I can then get a mailing address for her and correspondence with Dian the old fashioned way. I don't think I have talked to her in 45 years.

Gluttons' for Punishment

OK, after all those nice words about the puppy video that Melissa did, we have to share another with you. Tom and Melissa took the puppies out into the barn paddock (about 1/2 acre) for something new and fresh for them to experience. The big borzoi that you see in the background are Melissa's adult borzoi (mostly grey).

Tom says the puppies got cactus in their feet so they brought them back to the puppy paddock where they drank some water and fell sound asleep.

The Cute Puppies

KC, I just wanted to let you know that I watched the entire video and the pups are so so cute. I would have a hell of saying goodbye to them, but you know they are going to good homes, so I am suppose it's not so bad. They are just so playful and little (although not that little). Their markings are lovely too.

Thanks.

Sandra

Back to Heat and Humidity

Hello Everyone,

I am back to the Gritty City and tomorrow will be the ultimate gritty feeling as it is supposed to go back up to 100 degrees. Imagine how great that will feel :-)

I wanted to write in earlier but I have been just trying to catch up on everything. I am moving slowly because I am still on West Coast time and can't seem to get myself going until later in the day. I finally found a good moment to write since I was sitting in someone's office for a meeting and she had to take an important phone call. Hmmm, should I be taking this personally?

Actually it really isn't a problem, I understand that it was an important call and I had to leave her office.

I have been wanting to share my beautiful Oregon pictures with everyone at work, but no one seems to have anyt ime for such pleasures, even though they say they really want to see them. I have been promised that next week I can show them :-)

It was so great to see all of you. Bopcha, we all love to see you smiling. You look very nice in the photos on the blog. I also loved the puppy stories told by KC. They sound so sweet. It's probably hard to see them all go. On the one hand you are probably glad but at the same time you hate to part with them. I missed our little kitties while I was gone

and they were as cute as ever when I returned. Our cat sitter was wonderful and she seemed to really enjoy staying at our place and being able to use the pool. She said the cats were really adorable and Zuki followed her around the house. Sounds like Zuki.

Diana thanks for the ride to the airport, it was nice to have a chance to chat with you before the endlessly long flight back to the East Coast. It sure is a long trip. If only it were a bit closer.

I am sure the West Coasters don't wish the East Coast was any closer.

By the way, Nina has been doing her riding lessons and she is really enjoying it. In fact my sister said her whole mood has changed and she actually seems happier. Yup, Nina sure loves her time with the horses, which is wonderful. The only thing that would make her happier is if her parents would actually get her a horse for their backyard. But of course that is not legal nor is it even possible. Too bad.

Wow Diana, you are bringing a lawn mower to Corvallis, but now everyone will be fighting over it. Everyone will be wanting to mow the grass :-) Maybe you could set up a waiting list ;-)

Take care everyone. Much love to all of you,

Sandra

Lawn Mower

KC - the puppies are hilarious! I love it when one or more would go somewhere else, then figure they were out of the action and return! What a hoot!

About 3 years ago Bill and I bought a gasoline lawn mower for the new Pastor. She got reassigned and the new Pastor is staying in his own home so we are renting the Parsonage. In short, we are repossessing the mower and will bring it to Corvallis the weekend of July 31-August 1. Bopcha's house will be its new home and hopefully I won't burn this one up.

Love,

Dee

Flights and Puppies

Itineraries Here are my flight arrangements (thanks for being patient Kay!!)

Arrive Sat, Jul 24, 2010 in Eugene at 1:51 PM

Depart Tue, Jul 27, 2010 from Eugene, OR (EUG) at 2:15 PM

Meanwhile, we've been having great fun mixed with some distress as miscommunications have occurred and puppies are going to one owner when someone else asked first. Odd how that happens even when you think all is squared away, right and tight. I can envision Dee nodding her head wisely and thinking "Uh huh, Thompson, that's why we lawyers always recommend contracts, even (especially!) between friends." Tom's ready to swear off breeding entirely. Nonetheless, all that said, they sure are CUTE!! You may see them trotting and playing around on U-Tube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Io-48j57KY

You may have to cut and paste the link into your browser. Also, it may be a little boring watching puppies trot around and play for nearly 10 minutes. The music is nice. Melissa did all the work. We are simply the beneficiaries.

Wednesday

I know, I have been watching for days for KC's entry.

Nothing new at this end except the usual - deer ate the tops off my sunflowers and nibbled on my tomato plants Mice are living under my trailer - corrective measures have been taken. Also, mice were eating insulation underneath the hood of my car and the mechanic said that if you tuck a sheet of Bounce somewhere under the hood (where it won't catch fire) it will help keep the mice away because they do not like the smell of Bounce. I will let you know if it works.

Dogs and I are now off to Chip Ross Park and yes Diana, we are starting up the trail with the lesser incline and will come back down on the steeper one. That's right, that's right, I am a nonhacker. I will leave the harder stuff to you and Sandra.

Wednesday

What!!!!

No entries in the blog for days!!!!

What's the matter with you guys? Here I am at work, slaving away, and when I look for some tiny bit of a humerous interlude by reading the blog, I get NOTHING!!!!

Disgruntled.

Diana

Thursday

Hello everybody.

I will hit the road for Corvallis tomorrow morning and visit Jessica at her Portland store on my way down.

I'm counting on there being plenty of Breuss juice waiting for me!

Can't wait to see you, Sandra. If you need a ride to Portland on Monday, I can provide it. That is when I plan on heading back to Seattle.

Love,

Dee
