Alivia T. Manon, 18, of Salem, passed away due to injuries from an automobile accident on Wednesday, June 24th, 2009.
She was born on December 29, 1990 to Kevin Cook and Gabriella Szmola in Skokie, IL. Alivia graduated from Central High School this year.
Alivia had a brilliant wit and was an aspiring comedian. She enjoyed hand crafts, making woven and beaded necklaces and bracelets for her friends and family. Alivia loved to barrel race her horse Patti.
She is survived by her parents of Salem, her sisters Alexandrea Antonacci of Chicago and Gabrielle Antonacci and her husband Chad Matsuoka of Hawaii, her brothers Christian Manon and Zachary Manon both of Salem, her two nieces Mylene and Chloe, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, her cousin Patrick Denker who is serving his country and is leaving for Iraq in two weeks, and her other cousins, her 5 horses and her donkey Charlotte.
She is preceded in death by her uncle Seymour Szmola, who was killed at age 30.
Funeral services celebrating Alivia’s life will be held on Wednesday July 1st at 1:00pm at the Bruch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery. In lieu of memorials, donations can be sent to the family for the care of Alivia’s horses and towards the establishment of a youth riding program where area kids can come and enjoy life with her animals, whose lives go on.
Everyone is welcome to join the family afterwards at the beach in celebration of Alivia’s life.
