Subject: Safe & sound in Athens



Hey Family!

Greetings from Greece! I made it safe and sound, and am all in one piece. After checking into my hotel I picked up my camera (thanks Mom & Dad) and have been wandering the streets of the Plaka like I haven't a care in the world. There is a surreal quality to this place, due in no large part (I have no doubt) to the fact I haven't slept and my body clock is ticking away in a riot of time zones. But it is the start of my vacation and I am a happy, happy girl. I have even had my first gyro -- from a street vendor's stall for just 2 Euros -- and though it was perhaps not the best tasting, there was no beating the ambiance!
