Thanks for all the family updates

Hello Family,

Our condolences to Bill for the loss of his uncle. Uncle sounds like he was an admirable man. Also seems like he had a full life, which is always good to hear about people who pass away.

Other than the sad news, you certainly all have interesting things to report - and thankfully it is all good stuff. Sounds like there will be a new family member appearing in about nine month. Horaay! KC, I bet you are thrilled beyond words. And thanks for your lovely message last week when you called us to say hello and tell us you were heading down to Mexico. See what I mean about interesting and exciting lives.

Diana dear, wouldn't that man standing beside Jessica be Michelle Obama's brother?? How did you capture him for that photo? Although he certainly looks like a friendly face, it probably wasn't too difficult. And I see that Jessica's Halloween costume was A RESIDENT of THE REPUBLIC of EUGENE :-) :-) :-) Jessica, you really pulled it off well, you would fit right in with that oufit. Hee hee!

Sounds like Kay is having a well-deserved good time in California. Kay do you miss Oregon? Are you having good weather and staying away from the Oregon rain. Actually I don't know if it even is raining in OR right now???

And the other day I got an invite from Judi Myers to her facebook. What fun! I don't do much facebook stuff but I do like to check up on people I know to see if they posted any interesting photos etc.... When I did go to Judi's facebook, I saw a picture of Tory appearing to be on a Greek beach. How lovely!

The most exciting thing going on here is that the designer (Frank Agostino) that my mom has worked for in the past 30 years was invited to exhibit at Moore College of Art ( a well regarded Art School) and so last week my sister and I pathetically looked for something fashionable to wear in order to attend his opening/reception etc.... It was really fun. And in the end, even with our best efforts, there was nothing discernably fashionable about either of us. But at least we did not embarass my mother. Actually, Agostino designs are rather conservative but very stylish (no boring suits though) so you don't feel that you have to be loud in your "fashion sense." His customer base is made of mostly wealthy women who are not 18 years old weighing 65 pounds. He gets big bonus points for that. Although at the reception, there were certainly those who obviously have made "medical interventions" to look younger. Definitely a great place to observe.

But above all else, I have to brag about the craftsmanship and that is where my mother comes in. His designs could never work if my mother wasn't with him all these years pulling togther all his crazy ideas and sewing them into a beautiful garment that a human being can actually wear. Her sewing and patience isn't something you come across very often. He has been so lucky to have her. My only regret is that her name was not mentioned at any point that evening :-( boo hoo But of course I know she is very much appreciated by many. The customers floating around at the reception seem to love her my mother as they all enthusiastically approached her, "Ohhh Anna Maria......" I never heard her name spoken so much in my life. She was like a celebrity. We all need our moment of fame right? God knows she deserves it.

Hope all is well with all of you and you are always in my thoughts. Thanks for keeping bopcha.com alive!!

It is a warming and welcoming place for me to go when I want to get away from work or whatever else is going on (like paying bills)

Love to all of you,

Sandra
