Who Did It?!!!

Who let the cat out of the bag (so to speak) about Dee's 60th birthday present from the Zoiboyz???? (Tee hee--we're so glad that it sounds like you might approve of our choice Dee).

SAD NEWS about Aramis

I don't know why I read the blog in the morning. It tends to make my makeup run when I get sad news. And KC, the Borzoi photos are beyond beautiful. You are an artist. Who would believe that the sister with whom I worked pasting horse parts to make pictures on the wall of the basement would end up so gifted in a media we had so little experience with (except in posing for Mother's beautiful pictures of us). Honestly, it's all I can do not to beg for one of your puppies when I see your photos. Luckily, I get a grip when I realize how much work all dogs are.

And then, of course, I read Tom's email with the attachment about Vets and I teared up again.

Sandra, it was such a treat to see you and Sid. You are so funny and adorable (and hopelessly fit). I would comment about my brother, but he leaves me speechless.

Noah left for L.A. yesterday with two of his buddies from college. Neither are basketball players, so I have never met them. One is from L.A. and is turning 21, so the boys are going down to celebrate. They are staying with the soon-to-be 21 year old's parents, so I'm hoping that the celebration will consist of Kool Aid and cupcakes. Yes, I am delusional.

Jessica is working this weekend as it is a BIG SPENDING retail extravaganza weekend. We will no doubt catch glimpses of her.

I am enmeshed defending a big complex lawsuit at the moment, so Bill and I cancelled our plans to go to Corvallis this weekend. Kay is zipping down in her new car, however. I mailed Mother the baseball tickets so there will be some Beaver fanatics from our family at the game.

Buster the cat lost almost a whole pound last month. The vet put him on a diet and it seems to be working! We are thrilled with the vet, she calls us at home to check on Buster and then congratulates us on being good cat parents. Tell Nina about this useful tool so that when she becomes a vet she can have good marketing skills.

Alex and a stick and a dog. Sounds like his Godfather at that age.

Love,

Dee

News from Zoiboyz

Tom and I really enjoy your notes Sandra--and it's so kind of you to think the sun follows Dee and Bill around. Dee's other sibs and I may not endorse your opinion 100% but it is a nice thought.....

One of Ambassador's sons is named Zoiboyz Perfect Storm. The owners also call Storm or Stormy, so we think that Nina and Alex picked a perfect name for their little boy too. Stormy the borzoi has been selected for Germany's 2008 oval racing team. Belgium is hosting the world championships weekend of 7/8 June so maybe Alex and Nina can send lots of good thoughts his way. Zoiboyz Coffee Time will be running for the Czech Republic team. And Kazan's baby girl, Zoiboyz Chevelle, was also selected for the German team (there's a girls team and a boys team). They'd probably like to have good thoughts sent their way as well. Tom and I are really pleased to think that all three Zoiboyz puppies that went to Europe got picked for their respective country oval racing teams. Of course the REAL bragging rights will begin if one of them wins!!!!

Tom's enroute to Omaha and my little house in Louisville Nebraska. It's his first visit here. It will be a fun long holiday weekend for me, for sure!!

Love, KC

Goodbye Dear Sweet Aramis

Aramis crossed the rainbow bridge today. We expect by this time he has found his buddies Bonne Chance and Ouragan and they are already out on a hunt for something moving so fast that they'll have an excuse to stretch out their long lovely legs into an extended race. None of them liked to be behind, so now that they are back to where they were in their prime, painfree and full of joy, the race among them must be thrilling to see. In the meantime, Aramis' fans and family must find their comfort in that thought. It's sad to think of the Zoiboyz without their Aramis.

Gray Rainy Philadelphia

Hello Everyone,

Seems like all it does in Philly is rain. We have had a constant stream of cloudy, rainy, gray days. The irony is that the Northwest supposedly has a lot of gray rainy weather. Yet, each time I am there, I don't experience a drop of rain and here rain seems to be a constant occurrence. But I hear the Northwest is getting very hot temperatures. How are you all enjoying that?

The pictures that you put up KC are really nice. It will be so much fun to have puppies around, don't you think? Too bad Nina won't be around, the puppies would be getting lots and lots of attention if she were there. Hmmm... perhaps too much attention.

I know Nina and Alex are enjoying their dog ("storm). Alex has a tendency to "torture" the dog by chasing it with a stick, and other crazy things that a mature little boy does.... But he says he loves the dog so I guess this is demonstration of his affection.

Well I guess by now you all heard that Bopcha, Sid and I received quite an education in

identifying endangered plants and flowers. It's a really good think that nobody is relying on me to remember the names of these plants because the only one I can seem to remember is the lupen plant. Now Bopcha on the other hand is like a walking encyclopedia of plants and flowers. When you wonder through the woods with Bopcha, the names of everything at your feet is identified. It really is impressive. I don't think I have that kind of memory for any body of knowledge anymore.

Oregon was absolutely lovely. The weather was great. The day that Bill and Diana were in town was wonderful weather. The sunshine follows them I guess. We had a fun full day hanging out with them. We went to the OSU bookstore and Diana even let us use her alum discount - good thing because we bought many many items there. We had many things to buy. Nina and Alex actually like wearing shirts with OSU on it. In fact even George requested an OSU shirt. Bill and Diana were so patient in the store as I searched for shirts for what seems like hours. Thanks a million for your patience Bill and Diana!!

Then they took us to the baseball game, and we drove to Albany with the hope of meeting Noah's girlfriend (who was coming into town for a volleyball game), but the timing didn't work. So instead, what did we do in Albany? Well we went to look for jeans for Sid.

Sid has a hard time finding jeans because of his height. Sid has a theory that since the Californians moved into Oregon and they are so much shorter, Oregon is no longer a good place to find pants for tall people. I think he is kidding when he says this???? But how do you all like that as a theory. What would life be if it were not for these amazing revelations right?

If only I could transport a few (and I emphasize a few) things from Philly to Oregon, life would be grand. But I guess it never quite works that way does it? Life would not be as challenging I guess, and then we may loose our stamina to endure it all. But life without challenges would be okay with me for awhile, I am sure you all feel the same way.

Well, I should close for now. If you haven't fallen into a sleepy, drowsy state from reading this e-mail, I wish you all a nice Memorial Day weekend. Sid and I are happy that we have an extra day off, but who isn't glad about that right?

Love,

Sandra

Another Start for Puppies

Nitro and Carmen met today--and we're hoping for puppies arriving in mid-July. Of course, just as with Laika and Kazan, we won't know for sure until this time in June when we'll know if Carmen is pregnant or not. Such excitement. Love KC

Nice Car, Hi Joe, and Other News

Wow Kay, I sure do like that PT Cruiser!!! I know that a PT Cruiser can fit two borzoi in the back when the seats in back are folded down. I'm sure you are grateful to have that bit of information!!

Also, thanks for the MDay note from Joe. It sounds as though he has a nice farm of his own. I hope all goes well in Iraq. We are flying the flag at our little ranch for one of Tom's nephews. We'll dedicate it to Joe's son as well. The wind whips the flag pretty hard, it snaps and the pole leans overs, and it keeps the thought up front in our minds that we have loved ones in danger and working hard for us in Iraq.

Good luck with the mouse Bopcha!! Sounds like he's had a very happy life but it's time for him to GO!!

Much love from Omaha,

KC

Hoping for A Puppy

We are hoping that Kazan and Laika made some beautiful puppies last week. If they did, one of them will be ours. We will know by the first week in June. If they are there, they should be born around 8-11 July 2008. Won't that be fun!!

JOE

So good to hear from you, Joe.

It is 10 a.m. I just saw a mouse run across the floor. My work is cut out for me. Find a trap, set it, and wait. It was a good size mouse, or maybe he had a lot to eat. I just saw it AGAIN!

Love, Bopcha

Joe's BACK

Happy Mothers Day Dear Bopcha and all Moms' that are reading this.

Wow, its been some time since I've blogged and I notice we now have spell checkk. I like it, much appreciated to whomever accomplished it. I briefly reviewed what I've been missing, at least about myself. Sandra, great description of the sausage making I will read it to Karl he was a great help-as always. It was definitely grueling, thanks to Sid's 200 lb quota. I hope Sid, you had enough to share, if not I still have at least a bushel or 2 left.

Things have been very busy up here in the Pocono Mtns. Today my son Matt and I planted our garden, we hope to have tomatoes, basil, onions, string beans, corn, lettuce, bell peppers, cucumbers, watermelon and pumpkin. Having a backhoe surely helped in this endeavor. We plan to plant the pumpkin at the wastewater plant, we'll utilize the dried sludge for fertilizer, perhaps we'll make the Guiness Book of World Records :-).

I finally met my daughter Kristy's new Beau, Jon Reichelderfer, he's a Mt Ephraim NJ. cop. Mt Ephraim is right next to Camden NJ., the highest crime rated area in the country. We went out to eat. He was very nice they call him the "Dog" at the police barracks for his ability to smell marijuana. She tells me he doesn't waste time with petty crimes since there is always so much going on at his beat.

Joe Jr. is due to ship out to Afghanistan in late July. He may be there for 4 to 18 months. May God be with him. Last month he bought a kayak, I liked it so much we got 2 of them thanks to the tax rebate. We plan to cruise down the Delaware River. We've been practicing on the lake and have plotted our first run on the river later this week.

Well, hope all are happy and healthy.

Joe

Bill and Dee to Corvallis

I am picking Bill up at 11:30 this morning and we will head down to Corvallis from there. See you soon!
