Not only was a great President born this day, but so was a really terrific, one of a kind, loving, couldn't be replaced, absolutely delightful sister!!! I'm only waiting for Tom to wake up. We hope to be among the first to sing Judi her birthday song in our very unique voices. Happy birthday Judi!!! If your present arrived at the farm on time, it will the first such "in time" arrival for the year in terms of us getting presents wrapped and out the door.
Wow Dee - what a great snap!! You look so cute. I'm amazed you had clothes nice enough to wear to a wedding while serving as a Camp Easter Seal counselor. Just thinking about Camp Easter Seal brings back good memories. I was a kitchen aide for two years--once for the little kids and once for the late teen/early adult group. Had fun--learned the waitressing skills that helped me pay for college!!
Like Sandra, I am at work but attempting to avoid doing any actual work by blogging instead.
We have a high school basketball game tonight, so there is something to look forward to!
Bev (a new atty at work - she moved here from Texas) and I entered a 5K fun run that is scheduled for March 22. We have been jogging about 30 minutes 3x a week in preparation and I am suffering big time. Once I power through these first few weeks I ought to start enjoying it (or at least suffer less).
Jess has been working a lot lately. Noah has (I hope) been studying a lot.
This weekend we will be cutting up our fallen tree with Mother's Alligator. What fun!!! I am anxious to get some good weather so we can start cleaning up our garden. Now that the snow has melted, all the dead plants are visible and they are not that attractive!
The baked ziti sounds wonderful. Isn't pasta just the best? I wish I could eat it everyday, but I guess one is not supposed to because of all the carbs. Why can't pasta have the same calorie contents as salad or something. There was a time in my life when I did eat it everyday. That's when we were little of course. Seems like Jessica is such a good cook.
I am sorry to hear about the neck surgery. It sounds difficult but it also seems that the surgery will resolve the problem and Tom you will most likely get the relief you were looking for. You will be glad when it's over and out of the way. That is the advantage of getting the surgery done, you won't have to keep questioning "Should I do the surgery, should I wait, etc...." That is what I went through with my ear surgery which I had to have done in both ears (2 years apart) You are certainly in our thoughts. I don't think you will get shorter and besides you have lots of height to spare.
I hope everyone is well and not getting too much of a cold blast. We have a few very cold days but it will be warming up soon.
I guess I better get back to work. I am a little overwhelmed right now so I decided to write on the blog, which is a lot more enjoyable than what I have to do here expecially at the moment.
Jessica didn't have to go to work until 2 pm yesterday, so she made baked ziti from a recipe in the newest Cook magazine.
OH MY GOSH!!! I have never had baked ziti before (sorry, Sandra -- you have probably eaten it a lot, being Italian and all...). It was fabulous! Bill and I had our first helping before we went to see Frost Nixon last night. We came home and had a second helping. JB won't have much in the way of leftovers for herself.
Tom and his upcoming surgeries is prominent in our minds and hearts. We love you, Tom, and can't wait until your neck is fixed. (Don't let them make you shorter - we love tall men in this family!).
