Farm in February

Looking up at a big Douglas Fir

Creek from the bridge

Salt lick eroded by rain

Swimming hole

Not much left of the salt lick

Don't you think a red door would be cool?

Looks ominous, doesn't it?

It looks warm out, but it wasn't nearly as warm as it looks here!

Tory

Just as photogenic as her mum. Great pictures. Elwood - kind of sounds like a possible husband for me. Elwood, Elwood, Kay and Elwood. See kind of goes together.

Tory's Colorado Weekend

One of the things that a rancher needs to know is how to shoot. Tom gave Tory some lessons--here she is with a .22 holstered.
Tory, looking pretty, again with Elwood.
Exercising a visiting E-litter boy named Elwood. Elwood's mom is at a conference and he's spending a few days with us.

One cannot come to the ranch and escape chores. Here's Tory hauling water to thirsty Zoiboyz.

And here she is, putting her recently learned skills to work at the shooting range. That's still the .22, but she also practiced with the heavier 9 mm. Tory's home again today, but we thought all would enjoy seeing her weekend.

Puppy Play

We are back from the Denver shows (well, actually, yesterday). Tory and I brought Bocelli, Swann, and one of Tornado's babies, Eclipse. Since it was a borzoi specialty, lots of borzoi were there. We didn't win, but each of the 'boyz (and girl) placed 2nd in their respective classes. Each of the classes had at least 6 dogs in them, so although we didn't win, we did good!! I handled Eclipse, and a friend of ours handled Bocelli and Swann during their turns in the ring. Susan's really remarkable handler. Bocelli is barely leash trained, had never been in a show ring before, and certainly had never been in an extremely crowded hall with dogs, people, and noise. But he trotted off with Susan and happily trotted around the ring, looking bright and cheerful. Bocelli was the only red boy in the ring, so he looked extra special (at least to my eye--and it turned out, to the judge to the 2nd degree as well).

Tom will take Tory to Dragon man's today for some shooting lessons and target practice. She claims she's looking forward to the adventure.

Here is our new little Zoiboyz boy. His name is Starswift Lightning Flash at Zoiboyz. Kazan is Flash's granddaddy. Flash is our 2nd Kazan grandson here at the ranch.

This is Flash's playmate, a little Silken Windhound. Silkens look like miniature borzoi--Candy is about as tall as she'll ever get and Flash is only 3.5 month old. Perfect match at this point.

Here's Bocelli--at 8 months, almost all grown up!! He's playing with Swann--and you see on the ground, the old cow skull that's bounced around the family for years. I believe Bop picked it up in Texas. Bocelli (red boy in picture) is the other Kazan grandson. Swann, we hope, will be mama to Kazan's next litter--if she ever comes in season!!
