Big Dog and Other Stuff
First of all - poor Dee. I see Sid's already taken care of the detox program suggestions so I don't need to add to that. Of course, after reading Sandra's notes about redoing the bathroom, perhaps links to "handy man" schools, would be handy for Sid and Sandra. Tee hee.
I LOVE Big Dog (BD)!!! I tell you, DARPA comes up with the best ideas. The video was truly amazing. BD's legs responded exactly like a real dog's legs when it started slipping on the ice. So astonishing. I think BD will revolutionize backpacking, hunting, even wheelchairs will become modified to become more BD like I think. Then folks that don't have use of their legs anymore will be able to go almost anywhere. Won't that be fun to see? A wheelchair with legs?
Tom says he's on his way home from the borzoi nationals in Sacramento shortly. Ambassador's daughter Tornado finished 2nd in the straightracing portion (20+ borzoi competing), won her American Bred class in the show competition (8 borzoi bitches competing), and was 3rd of 3 in her coursing champion class. She stopped running in the 2nd course--we're not sure why, but she got bit on the heinie by another dog in a coursing competiton the week before, and that may have affected her). Kazan's son Challenger finished 3rd in his coursing open class (10 borzoi), tore his foot pad in the final of the straightracing so he finished out of the colors, and refused to let the judge touch him in the show and got excused. Sigh. Nonetheless, Tom says he had lots of fun, saw lots of beautiful borzoi, but is ready to come home.
Yesterday was beautiful, but today is gray and cloudy. It seems that Bopcha's weather ends up in Omaha within a day or two. Yesterday, Bop said the weather had turned blustery and cold--sure enough today we're getting the front edges of a blustery and cold week.
Lots of love, KC
