Interesting Factoid for My Sibs

Bopcha reports that she and Johnny Watkins were looking at those two big tree trunks Bopcha had some guy drag out of the creek.

"What kind of trees are these?" Bopcha asked.

"Why, one is a Douglas Fir, and the other is a balm tree." Johnny responded confidently.

"A balm tree...hmmmm. How do you think that's spelled?

"I'm not sure," Johnny said, having pronounced the word each time as "bam."

Returning home, Bopcha looked the word up in the dictionary. Lo and behold: balm (pronounced bam) .....etc.

I'm relaying this story to my sibs because I thought it important to remind them that--laugh as they might have last year--Thompson had it RIGHT and gets the last laugh-HA!!

So THERE!!
