Sunday (I think)
I surely need to borrow Nina for some serious Chihuahua training. Good for her that takes some discipline - of which I have none.
I still have 5 chicks - 2 black and 3 white. One of them was really struggling and in the wee hours of this morning I went in and checked on them and found the weak chick stretched out on the floor of the brooder instead of under the light and it was really cold and I think close to death. I put him back in the incubator where it is about 99 degrees and expected to find a body this morning. When I went in and checked on him he was sitting up. So pulled him out of the incubator and decided he needed water and I put his beak in the water a couple of times and he fell over on his side and I thought I had killed him. Picked him up and held him for awhile and he rallied so I put him back with the other chicks and decided - live or die. Okay I don't quite believe that because I go in and check on him oh about ever 5 minutes.
The pups are adorable and, of course, if I picked one of them it would be the runt.
I just don't know how Bobcha and Sid did it but I must say they are in great health and I am sure it will be hard not to want to eat everything in sight.
Bopcha don't know if I will be over today my stomach is still upset enough that if it is the flu and not food poisoning, I sure don't want to pass it on.
