Big Weekend

Kay in the cherry tree with Bopcha holding the box of cherries on her head!

Judi was picking raspberries on her way to pick pie cherries.

Brunch at Saltys was tasty! What a great way to start celebrating Jessica's 25th birthday.

Isn't it neat to be able to have a Sunday following the Fourth of July? The Fourth was really a busy day for us. Diana and Bill came down, and Saturday morning Diana climbed the cherry tree and Bill stood on a ladder, and Kay climbed on the ladder also and picked the cherries. Oh my, what a bunch of cherries we got. They were ripe, ripe, ripe, and so good. Judi's cherry tree had four different kinds of cherries, but my old tree just had red cherries that were so good. There are still cherries left on the really high couple of branches that we will leave for the birds, or maybe Judi will want to climb the tree and pull the branches down within reach.

Diana and Bill drove down on the third and left yesterday. Today they will celebrate Jessica's birthday. Judi is going to pit and dry some of the cherries, or maybe all of the cherries, that she took home with her. Her little tree is loaded with pie cherries along with three other varieties. The cherry trees we planted at the farm have not done very well. As a child, I remember my Dad had trouble getting the cherry trees established.

Have a wonderful restful day after the Fourth! Love, Bopcha

Thanks and apologies

Hello everyone,

Many thanks for all your birthday wishes, and no need whatsoever for apologies. I personally think it is impossible to keep track of everyone's birthday. Just think Sid and I forgot George's birthday this year. My excuse for that one was that we were in Oregon (May 26). Now does that make any sense at all? I don't think that made for a very convincing reason. I figured as long as I don't forget Nina and Alex's birthday, I will still somewhat fit into my family's version of a "civilized" person. But seriously your kind words meant the world to me. You were more than complimentary and

I, likewise, think you are a very sweet and caring family.

Today, luckily we are off from work. When you are constantly on the move, it is so tempting to fall into a very lazy day. It is noon and Sid and I have done nothing but lounge around the house and entertain ourselves watching the new little kitten in our lives. Her name is "Luna." She is white with a gray tail and gray ears. We think she may end up being a smaller cat. She seems a little small even for her age. She has the cutest little face and it is impossible to get annoyed at her even when she is doing annoying things. I have allergies to cats in general. Not sure what will happen, but so far I've haven't had any terrible reactions. I really hope my allergies do not act up. If they do, I guess it will become a question of who can remain in the house, luna or me?

:-) :-)

I hope everyone is well. How is Noah doing? Hope he is recovering nicely. The photos from the graduation are so nice. Diana and Bill, your back yard looks amazing. You guys did a beautiful job with that. It looks like it is very comfortable to hang out back there.

I will write more later, since it is my day off, I am feeling sleepy. Normally I don't get sleepy at 1pm but I guess my body knows it's a rest day. Yippie.

Thanks again for being such a kind-hearted family.

Love,

Sandra

LATE LATE HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDRA

Sandra I feel awful - hope your birthday was great.

Calling the vet tomorrow to see what it will cost to debark the dogs. I am hoping that I can get a senior discount. Poor Bopcha has come to my aid time after time by letting me leave the dogs in her side yard so I could take care of business. She scratches their little ears and noggins and they just eat it up.

Tiff is down for a couple of days but leaves on Friday to head home. She is heading to CA mid-July and I will be leaving about the same time. She is taking Theresa's stuff to her. I however will be going to spend a couple days with Joe and Jonathan and then to RC to visit the rest of the brood. Yes the dogs are going with me.

It is hot, hot, hot. Tomorrow, we are going to try and pick strawberries at a U-pick place if Judi is feeling up to it. She has a pretty good cold going.

Toni's Mom Died (Diana's friend in Chicago)

Sid, Toni's mom died. I thought you might want to write something in her book.
