Christopher gets promotion!

Steph's son got a promotion! His email included a photo, but I couldn't get it to show up on the blog. I'll try again later. Anyway, here's his comments to his Grandma Kay -

Yeah, I finally did it, I made second class, yay! Just wanted to say hello to all that I haven’t said hello to for a while. HI!

Write back!

ET2 Whitfield :-D

BLUE MOON tonight

Yes, tonight is the second full moon this month, so it is called a blue moon. I will be thinking of all of you when the moon finally comes over the horizon here in Oregon. I think the skies will be clear enough to observe it, the sun is shining right now, and we are supposed to have 80° ! Bopcha, w/love

Feels like the week should be over

Another class down and 10 more weeks to go (and counting). It is a Beautiful day today but unfortunately laced with typical Philadelphia humidity. Yuck! Bopcha, could you send us a bit of that cool Breeze you have in Oregon.. Ahhhhh

I got a call from Glenn yesterday (Brokerage days.), It turns out that his Uncle has his name on quite a few of the buildings here at Penn, including our Baseball field... Yikes! Of course I was oblivious of that fact, despite that everyday I walk by the rather Large inscriptions etched in stone. Sigh!!

Sandra and I will try to visit him this winter at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse show. sounds like fun and Sandra has not seen much of Arizona.

Sid

Now I want to drive to CA

Hello,

Joe's description of California was very inviting. I would love to drive through orange groves and pristine towns. Thanks Joe for your time in writing out such colorful details.

Some day perhaps we will make the drive out.

But for right now, I will be content to just sit here in my windowless office on a really hot day when the air conditioner doesn't even seem to be working, but I have a small fan blowing on me, with papers flying around my desk. Now this is living!! I can't imagine any other place I would rather be. :-) :-)

Okay enough sarcasm for today. I will leave the rest to Diana, who is truly the most skilled when it comes to wit.

I am happy to hear that we will get to see you guys soon (Diana and Bill). I've already mentioned it to my sister and she has already invited you to come and see the little art school. It really is inspiring. I wish everyone else could also come and see my sister's art school. It is really neat especially in the summer when there is lots going on. I mostly love the smell, that of clay and art supplies. It has a distinctive smell that always makes me feel happy.

Well I get back to work now. There is always some interesting case brewing over at the Vet School, so I will go see what is going on.

Bye for now.

Sandra

Headed to Philly and Albany

Yes, it is true. Bill and I are flying into Philly on Wednesday, June 20th, spending the night, then renting a car to drive north to Albany, New York (approximately four hours) to see Bettye, Benita, and the girls. Michael may not be there because his new job in Albany does not begin until July 1.

We plan on heading back to Philly on Sunday morning, June 24th and will fly out early on Monday the 25th.

I wish I were going to California - Joe's description was so vivid and delightful!

JB made it home safely. Bill and I picked her up at the airport. Earlier we took Noah and Haley (his girlfriend) to lunch. They are in the midst of studying for finals. Earlier than that, Bill and I took an hour and a half hike in the woods.

Strawberries!

Yesterday, we, Judi and I, each had a bowl of strawberries from our own y

a

rd! I don't know what is wrong with this. Well, anyway, my visit to the cemetery was very quiet, I was the only one there. I think maybe people believe that the thirtieth is really Memorial Day.

The day was sunny but the wind was cold. Today, it is supposed to warm up.

Love, Bopcha

Thanks Joe

We had another lightning storm last night and woke up this morning without power!!! So to kill some time Sandra and I roamed the neighborhood to see if any crack houses had surreptitious popped up. Instead we found that good old West Philly is actually looking pretty good - Though it may have been the coffee we had at the shop at 49th and Locust. :-)

Joe, I hope you will afford me the same amount of time to get to your chiropractors book as you took with the introduction of Nietzsche's "The AC." Sheesh!! Give him time my boy, The information is tough when your ears are just sprouting. At any rate he provides a subtle kick in the head - That one should not take the alleged gospel ( No pun intended) without question. (Not that you ever did) So in that vein I will read your book. Bopcha I suspect you would enjoy it also. He really was Joe's Chiropractor!! and I can vouch that Joe has always been quite enamored with him.

Say Joe why don't you bring down a copy of the book and we can a aggravate Diana and Bill who will be in for a short visit June 20 - 25. They will be using the condo as a base for other travels so I'm afraid we will only have them for a few day's. But, I am sure they would love to squeeze in a beer and some heavy philosophical debate. :-) Maybe we can even get Mike in the mix.

On a more serious note, Joe, if you can swing by and say hi that would be great it not then when ever you can. Sandra and I are looking forward to our visitors form the west and I know Nina Alex George and Rossana will be equally delighted.

Sid

I hope I'm not to late.......

Sandra

Since, I just noticed the dialogue concerning routes in California, There it was my original stomping grounds- while researching available water utilities for acquisitions during the 90's; and also the fact that I lived on the North Coast for over a year. I will say, as an ex commodity broker/trader that I found the Central valley route fascinating as I drove the endless Cattle ranches and cotton fields, not to mention the vast groves of Oranges and Onions. This route finally empties out into Buck Henry's old town of Bakersfield, for me that way is a delight.

A little further East, beginning at Mt Lassen or above, one can travel the High Sierras, I believe Route 49? 89? (or both) south will take you on a spectacular trip, through monumental landscape and breath taking gorges and ravines, but be prepared to down shift, even in an automatic. This way will take you through the rugged old west, Sonora Valley, Stanislaus National Park, Angels Camp (Mark Twain's home) and Yosemite. The towns are pristine, it's a real shot back in time. I believe it will end in the Kern River Valley where you can then again head West to the coast.

The coast is also a fantastic way, however anywhere above Monterey you can expect FOG, depending on what time of year, and at least until 11 AM the ride is breath taking, especially during an El Nino year when the surf is way up. Be sure to stop in at Clint's restaurant Hog's Breath at Carmel by the Sea. There are other places to eat and allot of them allow you to bring your dog if you have one. Carmel is also exclusive, yet down to earth you will not be disappointed. I also remember a Wal- Mart along the coast somewhere down there ( I know ---Disgusting).

Anyway best of luck to whomever is traveling in Cali. I am very envious and wish I could go along.

Happy Memorial Day to All

Joe Bonamico

P.S. Sid, I've just been enlightened to the fact that you are studying Psychology, God Help Us ALL. I have made it through Nietze's Intro (finally) and am presently working past Nietze 13. I am not sure, but he seems to be a very evil man, although there is allot of sense in what he writes. Try this book.. The Alien Enigma By Dr. Joe Intelisano ( my ex- Chiropractor may he rest in peace). I am more inclined to lead in that direction..........joe

Arrrrrgggghhhhhh!

Short version of what I wrote and when I went to save it mid-stream VANISHED!!!!

Go see "Waitress" -- it is good.

Noah is not coming home for the summer, his lease ends at the end of July and his new one starts at the beginning of August.

Yes, Sid, I do remember the storm we ran into in Texas!

Judith -- good to hear from you! I should be getting feedback on the auction results soon.

Bill and I went to breakfast with Kay this a.m. It was delightful to see her and one of her dogs bit Bill. Luckily, Luis got a mouthful of denim, not ankle!

Love,

Dee

Translation

I think the crop circles need to be translated. I plan to communicate with earthlings by means of the crop circles, so we better figure out a translation for them. The farm fields would be a grand place to write!

Tomorrow I will pay my respects to my loved ones at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery I meet my neighbors and we all talk, and make plans, and remember the good things. It takes away the sadness of the occasion.

Love, Bopcja

Kay's account

I have just re-set the password for Kay and went on to do a "test write" only to have it fail. Grrrrrr

We have to hit the save button folks! You can continue writing and save again and again. It is not as painful as having the entire brilliant work lost.

If You want to see how the msg looks on the blog your can just select "Back to web log" - But make sure you saved first! you will see what has been posted. If you have further editing then just hit "Edit entry" at the bottom of your message on the blog page and you will come back to where you can add more text .

At any rate congratulations Judi for getting on the blog - Especially when you have had multiple lost text!!! But as you can see, we all feel your pain. (see previous grumbling messages) It is killer to write a long msg only to see it disappear!!

As to the dishwasher. It will be a test equal that of the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object ie Germanic determinism (softened by polish good will) vs Italian freewheeling (Sorry Joe.)

The result over time will be very interesting indeed.

Love to all

Sid

At Last

This is the third note i have put on the blog, I can't seem to decide what key puts it up for all of you to see. I will try publish this time. I wrote two brilliant ones, not published of course and now can't think of a darn thing to say! Sid, I have got some starts on the black cherrry tomatoes and the convoluts, am thinking of starting more asparagus, the first are looking good. Your garden at the bottom of the hill is sprouting somethings but too early to see if they are edibles or grass. Bless you for your germanic obsession on dishwashers, THER ARE PROPER WAYS to load that vehicle. By the way Saundra he will get worse. It never became my nemisis until I reached about 60, so just imagine what an early bloomer will be like. YIKES Have a great weekend and enjoy your exta day. Jessica, many congrats to you, upward and onward. Love to all and I hope this one makes it to the light of blog. Judi

Italian Crop Circles

Bopcha,

You probably noticed that the crop circles this time appeared in Italy. Wish we could personally go see them in Italy. It's been years since I have been back to Italy. Thanks for sending along that website - it's very interesting.

Well I had planned to be much more active this weekend but have been a little limited because of some dizziness that I am experiencing. Don't know if it has something to do with my surgery. Or perhaps I have adverse reactions to long holiday weekends! Perhaps I would just rather be rushing back to work rather than having an extra day off. Well, on second thought probably not. I think an extra day off is much appreciated.

I think I will go for a long walk or run along the river drive, I want to be outside all the time in the summer. It is very warm here today. We will certainly not be going on any adventurous trails or anything because Sid will be writing his Philosophy paper. Oh yes, of course there was a home project he worked on before he started writing, he cleaned out his socks drawer. At least, the drawers are much clearer now even if he does end up finishing his paper later than he planned.

Diana, is Noah back for the summer or is he just going to stay near school? If he comes back, you will have a full house.

I will get going on my walk now but will check in again over the next few days.

Love,

Sandra
