Noah's Photo

If you log onto Seattle University's webpage and click on graduation photos you will see Noah on photo #4. His face fills the page and it is really cute. I tried to figure out how to get it on the blog, but failed.

Boo Hoo.

I am very busy but all is going well.

Dishwasher

I am enjoying my new dishwasher, and so is Judi. I didn't realize what a commitment it is to get up after lunch to hand wash the dishes! It is so easy to rely on and so quiet.

Also, I am enjoying the new counter top and the new floor.

I went to my doctor, Dr. Thompson, and she said the thyroid she prescribed for me was working nicely. How did she determine that? I don't know. Anyway, all is well for now. I go back in three months.

I enjoyed Noah's graduation even though I wasn't there. The blog and conversations made me feel good.

Thank you all for communicating the event for me.

We had a spectacular weekend!

I can't believe how well everything turned out!

On Friday, KC flew in and hung out with Tory during the day and met Bill and I at the local pub for burgers and beer that evening.

On Saturday morning, we pitched our new tent (well, KC and Jessica mainly) in the backyard and got the rooms ready for guests. At noon, KC, Tory, Nikole, Jessica and I had our nails (fingers and toes) done. Then we went back to the house to get ready for a family barbque.

By Saturday evening we had been joined by Murray, Kay and Judi. We ate outside and enjoyed our fire pit. At about 1 a.m. Sunday morning, Bettye arrived.

Sunday we went to the graduation and were relieved to see that Noah's name was in the program and that he had arrived on time. The ceremony was nice and they moved it along at a fairly rapid pace. In any event, we had time to get lots of photos afterward and we made it to the restaurant in time.

We had 19 people for our celebratory meal!!

Aunt Lou

The food was good and we passed around an essay Noah wrote in the fourth grade entitled:

"Noah, the interesting guy." He was appropriately humiliated.

Everybody is gone except for Bettye, Benita and the children. Aunt Lou is staying with a friend who lives near the airport. She leaves on Tuesday or Wednesday, I think.

Noah's car got broken into the night before graduation. They stole his GPS. Bill and Noah are getting the window repaired today. It took a lot of work to vacuum all the glass off of his seats. Bill has the week off, and Noah has no more classes, so they can run all the errands and entertain the children and the visitors.

I am back at work.

Now the Party Begins!

KC's flight should have just landed and so now the party begins!

This has been a busy, busy week. Bopcha and I just got home on Monday night, and then between work and getting ready for the graduation, I have been zipping around as if my pants were on fire!

Logistics will be interesting -- we only have sedans, so we will be schlepping people around in various automobiles. The weather is supposed to be in the low 70s all weekend. Perfect!

Ready for another renovation project

Hello everyone,

Hope the trip to Colorado went really well. It certainly seems like a really nice place to visit. I have never spent anytime in Colorado, but seeems like a wonderful place.

Well Sid and I have been back for one week. It is only one week back at work and I am already thinking that maybe it would be better to be renovating something rather than sitting in my office for endless hours. With everything going on at work, the thought of remodeing a room doesn't seem so bad. Bopcha, don't panic! I know you have had enough of home projects for a very long time. Well maybe I need to just stay home from work and do home projects here. We certainly don't have a shortage of work to be done right here in the house. You should have seen our garden when we came home. We have a little vegetable garden a block away. It has an array of weeds that are so healthily growing that one may mistaken the weeds for greens (the kind you can eat). Judy would be absolutely horrified if she saw our garden. We need to do some work on it.

But truly, in terms of coming back to work, I have returned to an unmanageable workload - with more position and salary cuts to come :-( My office is really humid and hot and because of the infamous cafe, I have pests I think in my office. I feel like a VIP with that office - what can I say. So I was thinking today, while I sat there staring at the piles of paper and e-mails in front of me, that I would rather me up on my feet doing some kind of physical work and probably be outside somewhere. I asked the Director of the Hospital if she could relocate me to a cottage somewhere by the mountainside or along an ocean front, and do my work from there. She didn't seem to think that was a viable idea, I

don't see why not.

Anyway, enough indulging about me. I hope everyone is doing well. I wonder how Kay and Judy are doing with the last remains of the project at Bopcha's house. I hope things are going smoothly, and hope you are not feeling like there is lots of work left over. I know that we ALL had the urge to rest indefinitely after such a hectic week. Ihope everyone had plenty of rest.

I hope you are all well.

Love,

Sandra

Ahhh finally catching up on our rest.

Sounds like you guys are having a ball! Sandra and I have spent the weekend catching up on sleep and rest. And I still feel like I need another couple days to catch up!!

Poor Bopcha, I don't think you have had a chance to recover before zooming out to Thompsons!! Here is a joke to for you all.

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."

"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."

The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."

"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Heading Home Soon

Mother and I will be leaving sunny Colorado this afternoon. Our rental vehicle is a Chevy Tahoe and we feel quite powerful as we bully all the other vehicles on the road. Unfortunately, to get in a position to bully, you have to get a ladder to get behind the wheel or to get into the passenger side. We were supposed to get a smaller SUV, but they ran out so we got the monster for the same price. Well, it is fun sitting up so high (once you get in).

Ambassador is sleeping on Bopcha's bed and Comet is on the couch. People get the hard chairs.

We have had a wonderful time. Everyone needs to come here for a visit!

Dog show

We went to a dog show today, in fact we just got back. KC showed two dogs and won two red ribbons. Diana was chasing a moth this morning that was fluttering against the window. Was she ever surprised when ten or eleven more moths dropped from the upper part of the window frame. They are about the size of the blue butterfly that Kay and I saw in the meadow at Wren. KC brought out a vacuum cleaner to suck them in. I told KC I was going to notify the people who protect rare wildlife and tell them they were endangered and KC was killing them off without a thought!! It made no difference as a bunch of them dropped out of the other window and they were sucked up in the vacuum cleaner.

The dogs have so much space to run around in. I've been told it is two miles around the perimeter. Tomorrow we leave for home. We have to turn in our vehicle, I have to go through special clearance as I didn't bring ANY ID with me.

There is still organizing left to do in the kitchen at home. And the basement. Diana was really imprest. Love, Bopcha

Having Fun at KC and Tom's Ranch

I am sitting in the kitchen, and I can see the field from where I am sitting. I just saw four Borzoi race up the field, leaving puffs of dust as they raced to the house. Everywhere you look there is horizon, blue skys, and, if you look in the right direction, a majestic Pike's Peak.

Today we are showing Durango in a regular dog show. He is going to get moussed and then show his stuff in a class of other Borzoi.

We have been having fun. It is great to get away from all the tasks I left for Bill and Jessica!

What a Beautiful Kitchen!!

Gosh Sid - thanks so much for posting the pictures. Dee and Bop did their best to give me a good verbal description but WOW the pictures say it all. What an amazing amount of workj--what a team you, Sandra, Judi, and Kay made -- working under the wonderfully gentle supervision of Bopcha. You all did an unbelievable job in a really short time. Just stunning, if I say so myself. And that wasn't all I know--the basement got done as well. Makes me exhausted to think about. Congratulations to all.

Colorado

This is me, Bopcha, writing on KC's computer. We are getting ready to sit down to dinner. KC & Tom's farm is truly worth a visit. The dogs are beautiful and friendly, the weather is warm and windy, everything is green from the recent rains, there is lots of room for the dogs activities. Diana dug some cactus today, and is a big help in the kitchen. I don't do anything other than snoop around the premises.

The pictures of the kitchen are beautiful. Thanks for sending them.

tooth pain

Of course, because I am going to be out of town, one of my molars started to act suspiciously. I managed to beg, borrow and steal an appointment with my dentist on Monday, and now have an endodontist apt. on Wed. It looks like the beginnings of an absess and I DO NOT want to be out of town when the pain gets serious. Anyway, it looks as if all will be go go go for our trip to see KC, Tom and the Zoiboyz.

Hope all is well in CVO and at the farm.

Dee

Monday

It is Monday and the Beavs are out of the play offs. Boo Hoo!

I came in early today to try to finish a brief BEFORE Mother and I go to Colorado. Otherwise it will be waiting for me when I get back.

I am sore from so much yard work. I am also sore because of a 5K I jogged on Sunday a.m. I was not as ready for this one as the earlier two I've jogged this spring. Somehow I just didn't feel as if it went as well.

gotta go -- you are all in my thoughts and YES in my prayers. I figgured you could use prayers about now.

Love,

Dee
