Cool Comet!!

Wow - wouldn't it have been fun to see that meteor streaking across the sky? It looked huge. Those traffic cameras are so cool--if it hadn't been for them, there probably worldn't have been any imagery of the thing flying over. Good thing it didn't land anywhere.

Too bad Beastie missed her flight. We had to replace the garbage sacks we use for the lure over and over again. I know she would have been much more durable.

Love those political activism pictures. Way to go folks!!!

Itinerary for KC

Lucky me. I get to visit Bopcha this coming weekend. I'll arrive on Thu, Apr 22, 2010, arriving in Eugene at 8:55 pm Thursday PM. I depart Mon, Apr 26, 2010 at 12:05 pm.

Beastie missed her flight!

Beastie was all packed and everything and I'll be darned if she didn't miss her flight! Silly girl, now she won't be able to show the Zoiboyz and their friends just how quick and clever she is!

Beastie Welcome at Ranch

Hey Dee - Tom and I were wondering if you wouldn't mind shipping Beastie down to the ranch this weekend. We're hosting a fun run on Sunday. We're thinking Beastie's tail might provide more realism than the plastic sacks while possibly being more durable. If it turns out not so good, we can always ship you one of Tornado's babies as a Beastie-replacement.

Friday

Yesterday I took the dogs back up to a trail near the sulpher springs. The other day there were a lot of tracks that I did not recognize so yesterday I took some track identification material that I ran off the internet. Okay, I still have no idea because I couldn't locate my treasure trove of tracks.

Tried using my rug shampooer to go over the areas I had spot cleaned when the dogs were sick and I'll be darned it wouldn't suction anything. I undid screws on the bottom, pulled stuff apart and finally found the instructions and read them. Well I guess that is what instructions are for - found the very easy to fix problem (and it didn't require removing any screws) and hello it was fixed.

Diana don't forget to take Beastie for a run today. Everyone have a great weekend.

Green Beans and Guitar

Mother, you will be happy to hear that last night Jessica, Bill and I ate a package of the green beans you gave us. Jess found a recipe where you mix soy sauce, oil, vinegar and a touch of cayenne together and toss the cooked green beans in it and then sprinkle toasted walnuts on top. Yummmmmm!

I am very excited about going to my first guitar lesson tonight! I got a confirmation email yesterday, so I guess there were enough students to actually have a class!! Finally!! It is a beginner class, but I thought I should start at the beginning. That way it will look as if I am a fast learner (at least for the first three classes).

I am really looking forward to attending Stephanie's graduation May 1st. Kay's crew is a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see them.

Jessica is starting her temporary 3 month assignment to the Portland store on May 1st. They are giving her a raise and a furnished apartment. She will be coming to Corvallis on her days off, at least some of the time. She generally only gets one day off at a time, and a trip to Corvallis for a day is a lot easier than going to Seattle for a day!

Love to all,

Diana and Beastie, her beloved rat terrier!

Sunday

Diana and Bill's make believe dog make me laugh. Dee and I went to a short hike today and although it was very pretty it wasn't really what I thought it would be. There were several cars at the trailhead so we figure that most of the people took another path.

Last night was the first night the dogs didn't get out of bed and leave dropping all over the bedroom and when I walked them earlier they actually had what amounted to normal looking feces. So, I think they are almost over the worst. I finally bought stuff at Petco and Diana held them and forced their mouth open so we could get the first dose down them and then repeated it for the second. Today, I just mixed it in their food.

The play was very funny and we had a great time.

Sid

Sid, ever since you SAID you would post your itinerary to Corvallis, I have been looking for it! Am I looking in the wrong place? Love, Bopcha

Mother and I are magic!

The Beavs were down by one, and Stefen Romero was at the plate as the first batter for the inning. Romero is 6foot2 and 220 lbs, so Mother and I decided he was a big boy and should get a home run. He apparently heard us, and the next thing you know - HOME RUN!!!! The game is now tied.

Helicopter the Dogs to the Vet School

Kay, you are welcome to bring your dogs to the Vet School, and I am sure they will receive fine care.

Perhaps they could be helicoptered in. Don't think for one minute that idea has not been entertained. I will go into the details at some other point, but we have had clients who have this capability, the only problem was when we were asked if they could land on our buidling roof, and believe it or not we are not set up to receive helicopters on our buidling. The question then came up if the Hospital's (univ. of Penn) facility could be used, and we had to explain that the hospital is set up for human medical emergencies rather than animal medical issues!! It is never dull at Vet, what can I say.

The play sounds like a lot of fun. I have always been a big fan of locally-based performances and in so manys ways find them more than the "metropolitan" style performances. Sid and I went to the Dean of the Vet School's house for a gathering of folks she works with most closely. :-)

She lives in a beautiful large stone house, with beautiful tree-lined property and a pond around. It always amazes me how people can perserve the lovely old world quality of a house and yet have it looking spiffy and in great shape. I guess that's what contractors are for. Sid and I have tried to "renovate" it just doesn't seem to turn out the same way.

Anyway, I hope everyone is well and hope Oregon is seeing nice weather. We have had some really warm days here in Philly. We love it.

Love to all,

Sandra

The Nerd

Bopcha bought Kay, Judi and I tickets to the Majestic to see "the Nerd," a play put on by a local theatre group. It was very funny, and we had seats in the very first row.

The Beavers lost after 16 innings and 6 and a half hours. Grueling! Mother was still listening when we left for the play. She had to leave me a message on my cell to let me know about the loss. The Beavs and UCLA play one more game today. Whew! I hope the Beavs win!

Love,

Dee

Rat Terrier

When Beastie, Bill and my rat terrier got diarreha we just flew her to the Mayo Clinic for treatment. Or, better yet, we shipped her to Sandra's school of veterenary medicine (excuse my spelling, I haven't had my coffee yet).

Mother and I listened to the Beavs baseball team beat UCLA (the latter is ranked third in the nation) last night, four to one. Baseball is so tense to listen to!!!! There is a double header today. Gulp!

Love,

Dee

dogs

Thanks KC that does help. My dogs are about 10 lbs each. I am telling you it smells foul. They are both drinking plenty of water and peeing up a storm. The first day that Ramone was really sick he didn't eat or drink. The info was very helpful and I am keeping that info close.
