SNOW

tHIS IS MY SEcond try. I enjoyed the pictures. Love, Bopcha

Errrg!!

My nice note about Jessica's fashion work on poor Buster got eaten by the ether. Ah well --- once again Jessica--nice job!!

Here's a picture of little Tornado with the person who handled her in the ring (Tom's knees too sore to permit him to run about the ring) and the judge to picked Tornado over the other 7 American Bred bitches. Little sweetie girl!!

Yeow - I see the snow Dee--I hope it stays in the north. And I really like the fence--so cool, and your neighbors haven't sued you yet either. You are so lucky.
Tornado

Very funny, Sid!

I am completely annoyed.

I spent WAY too much time figuring out how to change the ink in the printer. Grrrrr......

We have SNOW! Here's a picture of our new fence (we had it built in front of the basketball court/outdoor barbeque area) in the snow.

Love,

Dee

(drug free at last!)

Big Dog and Other Stuff

First of all - poor Dee. I see Sid's already taken care of the detox program suggestions so I don't need to add to that. Of course, after reading Sandra's notes about redoing the bathroom, perhaps links to "handy man" schools, would be handy for Sid and Sandra. Tee hee.

I LOVE Big Dog (BD)!!! I tell you, DARPA comes up with the best ideas. The video was truly amazing. BD's legs responded exactly like a real dog's legs when it started slipping on the ice. So astonishing. I think BD will revolutionize backpacking, hunting, even wheelchairs will become modified to become more BD like I think. Then folks that don't have use of their legs anymore will be able to go almost anywhere. Won't that be fun to see? A wheelchair with legs?

Tom says he's on his way home from the borzoi nationals in Sacramento shortly. Ambassador's daughter Tornado finished 2nd in the straightracing portion (20+ borzoi competing), won her American Bred class in the show competition (8 borzoi bitches competing), and was 3rd of 3 in her coursing champion class. She stopped running in the 2nd course--we're not sure why, but she got bit on the heinie by another dog in a coursing competiton the week before, and that may have affected her). Kazan's son Challenger finished 3rd in his coursing open class (10 borzoi), tore his foot pad in the final of the straightracing so he finished out of the colors, and refused to let the judge touch him in the show and got excused. Sigh. Nonetheless, Tom says he had lots of fun, saw lots of beautiful borzoi, but is ready to come home.

Yesterday was beautiful, but today is gray and cloudy. It seems that Bopcha's weather ends up in Omaha within a day or two. Yesterday, Bop said the weather had turned blustery and cold--sure enough today we're getting the front edges of a blustery and cold week.

Lots of love, KC

Poor Baby

Oh. you poor child. My sympathy is with you. Love, Bopcha

Flower Child

I had a thrilling day yesterday.

At 8 a.m. I had an appointment with my periodontist to do a bone graft on an upper molar that we are trying to save. I figured it would be no big deal.

Well, judging from the gruesome sounds coming from my mouth for a good hour, he chiseled, pounded, scraped and otherwise pummelled my poor jaw bone. It didn't hurt at the time of course.

Once the effects of the deadening shots began to subside, the pain crept in. NO PROBLEM - I had a prescription for the pain! So, back at work, I popped one. After an hour, my face still hurt. I'm pretty drug tolerant, and the directions said you could take one or two every four to six hours. So I popped another. Much better!

Then Mike came into my office to discuss some jury instructions he wanted me to prepare for his upcoming trial. As I sat and listened, I began to float. Then I broke into a cold sweat and streams started flowing down my face. Then I got nauseated. Then I fell face down onto my desk! Imagine Mike's surprise!!!!

Shortly thereafter I crawled out to our legal assistant's car and she drove me home where I crawled into bed and slept like a baby.

The pain pills are the same kind Noah was taking when he collapsed at Subway and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance his first year at Seattle U. Apparently, some of us don't learn by example - only by experience.

I am fine now - I took ONE pill this a.m. and am functioning moderately well.

Love,

Dee (perhaps not the brightest of Mother's children)

Repak

The presents I got today are three funnels, a water filter, and a belt too short to go around my waist. The funnels, one of them, will be suitable for filling a gas tank, and the other two are smaller.

Love, Bopcha

Blossoms

The pear tree, the prune tree, the cherry tree are in full bloom now. From the upstairs bedroom window the pear tree is quite a beautiful sight.

I am so delighted that Nina and Alex are enjoying their dog.

Sandra and Diana would each make very interesting books about the goings on in their chosen professions.

I have been listening to the news on the Texas situation involving all the cildren removed from their home. What a tragedy.

I guess you must be having an interesting time listening to the candidates preparing for the primaries in your state.

Tomorrow is Repak. I will spare you the details!

Love from the Pacific Northwest. Bopcha

Welcome to Little "Storm"

Hello Everyone,

Well after a relentless day of working on the bathroom project, we headed to New Jersey to visit the Parson's. We got to see their new little collie. He is very handsome. He is gray and white, and has some black fur mixed in. He seems to be really sweet, as collies usually are I guess. His coloring has earned him the name "storm."

Nina and Alex are overjoyed. Nina says that now she has a little friend to greet her after school. And since Alex is so little(even for his age) it appears that Storm thinks Alex is a puppy or a toy or something of that sort because he plays with him differently than he does with everyone else.

My sister also says that having the dog around sort of gives her a break because the kids are so absorbed in playing with Storm. It is quite a nice addition to the family. Although the added responsibility can't be denied, it seems to be one that benefits everyone. Apparently, Nina and Alex are more motivated to be neater and clean up after themselves now that they have a dog. My sister set that condition beforehand. Not to mention that Nina was so focused on getting a dog that she couldn't seem to think about much else. She tells us all that she wants to be a Veterinarian and that it is very important for her to have a dog in order to prepare her for that.

Welll I guess I've babbled on long enough about Storm. Sid and I have been working hard on redoing the little bathroom. I can certainly see why you would hire outside contractors to do these things. But of course the cost of contractors is enough to scare us away from going that route. There is something gratifying about doing the work, or I should say seeing the end result. It is almost like being an artist and seeing the final painting after hours of effort. But the road to the end is tough. Needless to say we are looking forward to finishing - but then again are you ever finished with home projects.

Work is crazy as usual. The cases that are coming up keep really busy and keep me "scratching my head" thinking now what?

I could write a book - a collection of employee relations cases - that would be entertaining indeed. Well maybe it would be entertaining.

Well we will be out there soon. Strangely enough, I don't mind if it is cool drizzly weather out there when we come because I like that kind of weather - it is rather soothing.

Hope Diana and Bill are having a nice time in Corvallis this weekend. Hope the baseball game was fun - well of course it is.

Well I've gotten the "command" from Sid that I need to get to my assignment on the project :-) He has been designated the boss on this project :-) :-)

Talk to all of you soon.

Love.

Sandra

Beavers lost today

The score was 6 Stanford 4 Beavers. Diana and Bill went to the game and just called in and told me. Judi was here this morning but left shortly after 12 noon. KC is in Oklahoma. I am waiting for her to call in and tell me the score for her dogs. Also Tom is in California with his dogs and will be calling in soon I presume.

How is the bathroom business going?

Tomorrow is my Boniva day. I HAVE to get up, take my one pill with a glass of water, and not eat anything, no coffee, nothing but water, for an hour. And I can't lie down, or go back to bed. I need to sit up or walk, or stand up. This is so my bones will be nice and strong for the remainder of my life! It is so hard to do. When I get up I reach for a cup of coffee first thing so on my Boniva day I must go without the coffee and have plain water instead. Whine! Whine!

Diana showed me how to access the JAPAN movie. It was very entertaining. I enjoyed it.

It is 75° outside on the kitchen porch right now and 78° in the house!!! I'm so smart with the ° signs. I'll bet not many others know them.

Love, Bopcha

I love it--Nina getting a DOG.

From Diana

Bill and I made it to CVO at about 9:30 pm. The stars were shining bright and the little garden lamps were glowing softly. It was such a welcome sight. Bopcha left the porch light on for us.

Today is sunny and should be in the 70s. The Beavers beat Stanford yesterday in the 10th inning, so we are looking forward to a good game today.

Sid, Mother said she couldn't figure out what the Japanese attachment was, so your brilliant sister showed her how to start the video and we watched it. Quite interesting!!!!

Love, Dee

Spring (some more proof)

The cherry tree is in full bloom, and the pear tree is starting to bloom, and also the prune tree.

I don't get the drift of the blog titled Japan.

I'll leave the door open for you, Bill and Diana.

Love, Bopcha

Coming to Corvallis!

Mother - Bill and I have tickets to the Stanford/OSU baseball game this Saturday. We will head down to Corvallis Friday at about 5 pm. I have an all day Continuing Legal Education seminar on Friday so we can't leave until it is over.

We will be bringing a couple of boxes down for Judith. One is a Grandma Clingingpeel painting and the other is full of little treasures that were on the shelf in one of Kay's downstairs bedrooms.

Love,

Dee
