Picture

Finding the school picture of Bopcha and her siblings was amazing. The March 1928 photo appeared to be a school photo taken by probably the school teacher. We found the photo at an antique shop (Beekman Place). Judi and I were looking over old photos when Judi stumbled on this one. The first names of the kids was printed on the back and when we gave it to Bopcha she was able to write down the last name of all the students except for someone called Bobby who was probably about 1st grade. Some Watkins and Gellatlys were in the photos. A once in a lifetime find.

Judi and I ran into Albany today to do some shopping and got caught in some serious rain. Had lunch at a little Mexican place (I do mean little) and the food was great. We actually should have ordered one dish and splt.

Steph and some friends went to Burbank yesterday to see the Ellen Degeneres show but weren't able to get in. They were given tickets for a February show - so will be going back.

A fellow dog walker told me that there were some cute chihuahua mix puppies that had been turned into one of the humane shelters. She said I could see them online. I told her that I really could not look at them for fear I would adopt. Two dogs is plenty for me especially now that I am being hit with vet bills. I see a lot of dogs on my walks but not one single Borzoi. KC and Tom must have them all.

Have been following the shooting at Ft. Hood. It will be interesting to see what is uncovered as the investigation goes forward. From the news report, It appears that the shooter is still in a coma.

P.S. Don't try and talk to me via Facebook - that just kind of happened because I was trying to contact Steph and Tina's brother Charlie and it just kind of grew from there. I don't understand anything about Facebook or how it works. But the picture of me on facebook is Alexis and I and don't I just look ever so charming.

Closing time

Yes, the kittens do need to be rescued! I wonder, who is holding the kittens, and who is holding the camera.

I worked at the Gleaners tonight at closing time. I came home with eight big pomegranates. dozens of limes. and ripe bananas. All this would be fed to the pigs, and these were really fresh. I think I will make this a weekly visit.

KC is on her way to Wyoming to take the hounds on a hunt for jack rabbits. She will be there Saturday and Sunday.

I really wanted the Phillies to win. Love, Bopcha

Go Beavs!

Today I am wearing my new black and orange reading glasses, my Beaver necklace Jess brought back from New Orleans (really gaudy), black shirt, black jeans, black boots and a black and white sweater. Hope that my karma helps the Beavs beat Cal!

Jessica looked at the kitten photos and, like me, was grateful they are too far away for us to steal one or two. Talk about adorable photos!!!!

It is really rainy and windy here. Yesterday a tree fell and killed a 40 year old who was walking his dog in a park. I have death fantasies about a limb falling and bonking me on the head, so every time I hear about it actually happening I get paranoid.

Hope everyone is well. Kay, when are you going to write and tell everyone about finding the photo of Bopcha's grade school class in the antique store! You and Judith are amazing! If I ever get lost, I want you two to come looking for me. Between you two, the jets KC will deploy, and Mother's willow branch, I won't stay lost for long!

Noah is thinking about exploring Consurmer Psychology as a career. I know U of Penn has a masters program as does (choke) U of O.

Boo Hoo!

We were pulling for the Phillys and so we watched last night's game to the bitter end. Doggone it!

All is well here. Tory and Murray and Nikole are throwing the annual Christmas get-together this year. December 5 at Tory's house. Come one and all if you can.

Bill and I will be going to CVO for the Huskies/Beaver game next weekend (the 14th of November). This weekend they play at Cal.

The Blakneys will get a hotel room for Bopcha's birthday visit. There are just too many of us to squeeze in elsewhere, and one or more of us will be coming in very late on Saturday night, November 21. We will not come down for Thanksgiving.

We have a new Whippet office dog. His name is Nelson and he looks like a Whippet Ambassador. Mostly white with light brown spots/saddle. He is very sweet, of course. The last Whippet office dog died suddenly about a month ago - 10 years old.

Love,

Dee

Big turtle swimming in the ocean.

Monday Morning

I am confused, too, Kay! I don't know where I am (at work) or what time is is or should be. Plus, I stayed up really late last night because Jess, Gavin and Noah came over for dinner after Jess got off work (about 8 m) and we ate and they showed us their Hawaii photos (on our TV no less!).

Boo Hoo! We were all rooting for the Phillys and they lost their third game in the World Series.

The Beavers escaped with a win against UCLA. We play Cal this upcoming weekend. Gulp!

I'd better do some work.

Love,

Dee

Theresa

Theresa got to make a 5 minute call so she called her mom. I guess she has lost a lot of weight, doesn't want anyone to send packages because they have to open them in front of everyone (don't know if they share or not), has learned to eat all her meals with a spoon. That's all I know.

Bopcha took me to Crystal Lake Park and we walked the dogs today. She had Ramone and I had Luis. A nice place to walk with the leaves falling and the sun out. My furnace went on the blink on Friday and I had to have fixed. Better now than in January. Forgot to change my clocks until the subject came up at Bopchas. So far 2 clocks down and one to go. In fixing my watch, I forgot to push the thingy back in and it sat at 1:25 for several hours. Forget the car clock if I even have one and I have no idea how to set the microwave. Somethings just should not have clocks on them.

My newest great grandbaby (a girl) is due in January. This will be Jake and Kara's second child - Adam Michael being the first. Adam is a doll and I tried to attach a picture but was not successful. Kind of think Dennis the Menace.
